Ordinary People International Providing, Caring, Loving - People Helping People to Transform Lives People are unemployed and are in need of the basic necessities of life.

Community centers are closing in record numbers and people have fewer choices for much needed social services. We are standing in the gap to meet these needs and are providing giveaways. Our goal is to expand our services by offering five programs. Person to person and block by block, Ordinary People International has an opportunity to provide a multitude of services and activities for the underse

rved “under one roof.” OPI believes this all-inclusive concept will allow for building a community of cross-generational communication in a “village” setting that ultimately helps to redefine and transform communities from the inside out. More than ever before our city needs community centers that will support the learning of new behavioral patterns for all participants and provide them with an internal compass to guide future academic, personal, and professional successes. We have partnered with three retail stores, three national partners, one local non-profit, and one local business who generously donate products. We have planned activities that will encourage our participants to be motivated and encouraged to transfer their newly gained knowledge for the betterment of the community.

Since March of 2020 OPI has become an “essential” organization and has received numerous donations from various entities during our country’s disaster crisis. OPI donated the following items to local non-profit organizations, food pantries, individuals and families:

Feed the Children donated personal hygiene items (hand sanitizer, body wash, kids bubble bath, cocoa butter vaseline, adult diapers, and L’oreal Pure Sugar Facial Scrub. These items were valued at $77,179.00.

Apostolic Faith Church (Bishop Horace Smith, Pastor) has partnered with OPI to distribute food boxes to the community. To date, we distributed over 500 boxes.

OPI was one of 36 non-profit organizations selected to receive funding ($3,000) from The University of Chicago to provide care packages for 30 seniors.

Ordinary People International Donates Gifts To Mather’s—More Than A Café Senior Volunteers

April was National Volunteer Recognition Month and Ordinary People International (OPI) gave recognition to Mather’s—More Than a Café Volunteers. Mather Connection Volunteers were presented with Thank You Certificates and gifts from Ordinary People International sponsors Bed, Bath & Beyond and UGG.
