The Misericordia family is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mike Ditka, the legendary Chicago Bears coach and a close friend of Misericordia. His passing is a profound loss for the City of Chicago and the Misericordia community.

Mike was a strong force around Misericordia and a dear friend to Sister Rosemary Connelly. He knew many of the residents by name and supported Misericordia in countless ways. His legacy will live on at Ditka Hall in the Marian Center on our campus.

His support of Misericordia reflected his deep compassion for the individuals and families who make up our community. He understood the importance of creating opportunities, offering hope, and ensuring that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are valued and celebrated.

We will miss him terribly. We keep Diana and his family in our prayers. Thank you, dear Mike, for all your support.

Please join us in congratulating Bobby B for reaching a personal employment milestone. Bobby set an employment goal for himself to work in a pizza kitchen. He researched restaurants and positions; he interviewed and work hard on building skills. Today he earned his jacket and has been assisting in pizza making at Napolita - Pizzeria & W**e Bar since early summer. Huge thanks to Napolita for encouraging and teaching Bobby to keep up the great work! Bobby, we're proud of you.
