At Chicago Furniture Bank, we are dedicated to turning houses into homes. This spring, we hosted impactful events including our first Earth Day celebration, a volunteer day with City Year and the White Sox, and a dresser-building competition with Project H.O.O.D. In March and April alone, we furnished 621 homes, showcasing the vital role our services play in improving social and physical well-being. Join us in making a difference!

Memorial Day Closure

In observance of Memorial Day, Chicago Furniture Bank will be closed tomorrow, Monday, May 25th. We will resume normal operating hours on Tuesday, May 26th.

We wish everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day as we take the time to remember those who served.

🌎 Thank you to everyone who came out on Saturday to celebrate Earth Day at Chicago Furniture Bank! 🌍

Event highlights include:

💪 40+ volunteers who packed, assembled, and reused!
🎸 Musical performances from our friends John Ludwig and Buzz Hunter
🛋️ Demonstrations of CFB's creative furniture reuse projects

As we wrap up , we want to highlight our great friends and partners from Honoring Aging.

Honoring Aging supports CFB in many ways–connecting us with furniture donors, promoting our services, sharing our mission, and volunteering.

The group we hosted earlier this month helped out by sorting donations and packing kitchenware kits for families moving into new homes.

Continuing our celebration.

A huge thank you to our volunteers from Bulley & Andrews! This group was INCREDIBLE

They arrived at CFB, tools in hand, ready to help wherever needed. Over 4 hours, the group assembled dozens of pieces of furniture and converted more than 20 dorm desks into functional dressers for CFB clients.

Today marks the beginning of 🙌

To celebrate, we are going to highlight some incredible volunteer groups that have made an impact at CFB over the past month.

Today, we are highlighting our friends at Jewish United Fund of Chicago - JUF TOV Volunteer Network (JUF) Chicago Young Leadership Division (YLD). This group of volunteers spent a Saturday morning at CFB assembling chairs, tables, and couches for our clients.
