✨ Honoring leaders who help shape Chicago's future. ✨

We're excited to announce the first two honorees for the Chicago Latino Network's Hispanic Heritage Month Gathering, taking place on October 14, 2026, at the Chicago History Museum.

🏆 Sandra Cordova Micek will receive the Culture Shaper Award in recognition of her leadership in media and her commitment to expanding access, representation, and cultural storytelling across Chicago through WTTW - Chicago PBS and WFMT.

🏆 Dr. Jessica Chavez will receive the Chicago Catalyst Award in recognition of her leadership in expanding educational opportunity, fostering community engagement, and creating pathways to discovery and innovation through the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry.

The evening will also feature a special fireside conversation with Elena Gonzales, PhD, curator of Aquí en Chicago, the exhibition exploring the enduring presence and influence of Latino communities throughout Chicago.

This gathering is being intentionally curated to bring together leaders from across business, civic, nonprofit, philanthropic, media, education, and cultural sectors for an evening of recognition, conversation, and connection.
