We are so proud of our Board Member Camille Williams. Go watch the episode and show your support as she is engaging our youth in civics education.

Testifying in court at age six after her mother's murder inspired Camille Williams to ensure everyone knows their legal rights. At Chicago Votes, she leads programs for inclusive democracy: winning voting rights for the incarcerated, supporting court observers, and overseeing a podcast urging Americ...

Teaching young ladies to connect with themselves through art is a powerful act of self-discovery and healing, one that nurtures voice, confidence, and emotional resilience while honoring their lived experiences. This was a project that we did during a recent wellness summit.

Our Founder & Executive Director was recently featured in a powerful thought piece exploring Rosa Parks beyond the history books we were given. This piece lifts up Rosa Parks not only as a civil rights icon, but also as a wellness practitioner who understood rest, care, and collective healing as acts of resistance.
We invite you to read the article to learn how wellness has always been part of our liberation story, and how Rosa Parks modeled that long before it became a movement.
Be sure to subscribe to The 19th to continue following this important work and storytelling.

It’s Giving Tuesday, and we’re asking you to stand with us.

For 15 years, Restored Hope has shown up for Black and Brown women, girls, and families navigating trauma, crisis, and life transitions. From our Christmas Program and court support, to emergency mutual aid, somatic healing circles, and mentoring, our work is built on love, dignity, and community care.

This year, we’ve walked alongside women rebuilding after violence, mothers searching for safety for their children, girls learning to trust their voices again, and families facing housing, food, and financial insecurity. Every story reminds us why this work matters.

Your Giving Tuesday gift helps us continue:
• Supporting women in court as they fight for safety
• Providing urgent holiday support for families
• Offering trauma-informed healing, yoga, and somatic care
• Giving girls mentorship, leadership development, and global sisterhood
• Meeting emergency needs with compassion and no red tape
Every dollar stretches far, and every donation is a seed of hope.

If Restored Hope has touched you, inspired you, or reflects the world you want to see, we invite you to give today.

📣 If you can’t give, please share. Your voice amplifies our work.
Thank you for believing in us and believing in the healing and brilliance of our community.

This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to honor this milestone by investing in the next 15 years of impact, leadership, and liberation.

With ICE agents and the national guard being deployed to our communities, here is a guide that we found helpful in this moment. We don’t need anyone standing on the sidelines saying, “this isn’t my problem .” This is all of our problems, and we all need to do our parts to keep one another safe.

We are thrilled to announce that our founder and executive director was nominated for the Chicago Learning Exchange, Brother Mike Award.
“Every day, unsung heroes across Chicago show up for our young people, working tirelessly to help improve outcomes and maximize their potential, often without recognition or financial gain. CLX is privileged to honor these inspiring individuals as nominees for the Brother Mike Award, celebrating their dedication and the spirit of mentorship that “Brother Mike” Hawkins exemplified.”

As Brother Mike once said, “Being a mentor is loving what you do enough to pass that knowledge onto the next person.”

Let’s congratulate Tameka and all the other amazing nominees for this year’s award.
