The legislative session came to a close last night, and thanks to ⭐YOU⭐, the FY27 budget included the Digital Advertising Tax that we fought so hard for. By fairly taxing the mega-corporations that profit off of our data, Illinois will see $1.2 billion in new revenues, helping to stem the harm of federal cuts to our safety net programs.

But the budget doesn't go nearly far enough. The Digital Ads Tax is a major win for Illinoisans - but the budget doesn't do enough to provide relief for working Illinoisans in the midst of a growing affordability crisis.

So our work continues - thank you for carrying us this far! Over the summer, we will continue to build power, share our stories with legislators face to face, and demand that our state government step up to meet the moment.

This is the FINAL PUSH.

The legislative session ends TONIGHT at midnight, and there is still time to make lawmakers hear us loud and clear.

Over the past week, parents, childcare providers, workers, organizers, and families have filled the Capitol, marched through the rotunda, shared their stories, and demanded an Illinois that puts community need before corporate greed.

Now we need everyone to take one final action.

Contact your elected officials.
Share our posts.
Talk to your community.
Help us keep the pressure on until the very last moment.

Illinois families should not lose vital services while billion-dollar corporations continue avoiding their fair share.

This movement has always been powered by ordinary people choosing to stand together and fight for one another.

Let’s finish strong. Drop a✊🏾in the comments to let us know you made your calls!

The legislative session is not over yet, and lawmakers still need to hear from us. We have until Sunday, May 31 at midnight to get our revenue bills across the finish line!

Our communities cannot afford more cuts while billion-dollar corporations continue avoiding their fair share. Right now, elected officials are making decisions that will impact childcare, healthcare, housing support, and critical services across Illinois.

Take a few minutes today to contact your legislators and tell them to put community need before corporate greed.

Every call, email, message, and post matters. ✊🏾

Illinois has one of the most unequal taxation systems in the nation, meaning that working people and middle-income folks pay a greater percentage of our income in taxes than billionaires and mega-corporations.

At the same time, the Big Beautiful Bill is resulting in massive cuts to programs we rely on like Medicaid, SNAP, education and more.

Who reaps the benefits of these cuts? Billionaires and corporations, who are receiving federal tax breaks.

Without changes to our tax system, our communities face more cuts to the programs and services that keep us afloat. That's why we're calling on the Illinois legislature and Governor Pritzker to pass the policies put forth by the !

The legislative session in Illinois ends this Sunday, May 31 - now, we have to keep up the pressure in order to prevent more harmful cuts to healthcare access, child care, education, youth programming, and so much more.

Tonight, we are leaving Springfield exhausted, but energized - and more determined than ever.

Today, parents, childcare providers, workers, organizers, and families filled the Capitol to demand an Illinois that invests in people, instead of protecting corporate greed.

We marched through the rotunda.
We shared our stories directly with lawmakers.
We demanded equitable revenue policies that fund the services our communities rely on.
We fought for investment in childcare, thriving wages for providers, and a future where working families are not asked to carry the burden while billion-dollar corporations avoid paying their fair share.

And we did it together.

This movement is powered by ordinary people choosing to show up for one another again and again…in the streets, in the Capitol, online, and in our communities.

If you live in Illinois, and haven't had a chance yet, please take one minute to send an email to your legislators, and help us get our equitable revenue policies across the finish line this week.

And neither do we. ✊🏾

This is what people power looks like.

Today at the Illinois State Capitol, our members showed up with their families, their children, their stories, and their communities behind them to demand a future where every family has what they need to thrive.

Because this fight is bigger than one budget cycle or one legislative session.

It is about the kind of Illinois we are building for the next generation.

When children grow up seeing people organize, speak out, and fight for their communities, they learn that their voices matter too.

Too Black! Too Strong! ✊🏾

And still pushing forward together.

Today, our members are back at the Illinois State Capitol fighting for what our communities actually need.

Not more corporate loopholes.
Not more cuts.
Not more excuses.

We are demanding investment in childcare, healthcare, housing, and the services working families rely on every single day.

Because community need should always come before corporate greed.

Drop a ❤️ in the comments if you believe wealthy corporations should pay their fair share to fund our communities!

As a member of the we’re calling on our legislators to pass revenue-generating policies that:

1.) Ensure that the programs and services our communities need are fully funded

2.) Reduce the burden on working families

3.) Mqke sure that billionaires and mega-corporations pay their fair share in taxes - just like we do.
