💜 Kindness counts most when no one is watching.

It’s easy to do good when there’s recognition attached to it. When someone will say thank you. When there’s a picture to post. When people will notice.

But some of the most meaningful acts of kindness happen quietly.

Helping someone who can’t return the favor. Cleaning up something you didn’t mess up. Giving without needing credit. Showing compassion when no one else will ever know you did it.

That’s where character shows up.

💜 TODAY’S KINDNESS CHALLENGE:

Do one helpful thing today without telling anyone you did it.

No picture. No post. No recognition. No applause.

Just do it because it needed to be done—and because you could help.

Sometimes the best kindness is the kindness that only you and the person who received it will ever know happened.

💜 Gratitude grows when it is spoken.

We often appreciate people quietly. We think about how much they’ve helped us, how they showed up when we needed them, or how simply having them in our lives has made a difference.

But sometimes we forget one important thing: they may not know.

Don't assume people know what their presence has meant to you. Don't wait for a special occasion to give someone their flowers. Say it while they can hear it. 🌸

💜 TODAY’S KINDNESS CHALLENGE:

Thank someone specifically for something they have done or meant in your life.

Send the text. Make the call. Have the conversation. Instead of just saying “thank you,” tell them why you're grateful for them.

A few sincere words may mean more than you realize.

We are on the Westside in the Austin community. Much thanks and appreciation to 15th District Chicago Police Department for the invitation and hospitality.

Shoppers will select over $100 worth of groceries to prepare meals at home.

Why? Because We Care.

🎉 NO SCHOOL? COME HAVE SOME FUN! 🎉

Chicago Public Schools is out on Friday, September 25, and The Kindness Campaign is turning the day off into an afternoon of health, resources, food and FUN for the entire family!

​

Join us for Healthy Kids. Happy Families. – A Community Health + Fun Day from 12 PM–3 PM at The Kindness Campaign, 703 E. 75th Street.

And when we say FREE, we mean FREE! 🙌🏾

We created this event because a day out of school can also be an opportunity to bring families together, connect residents with resources, support healthier communities and give our kids a safe place to simply have some fun!

🩺 Lurie Children’s Mobile Health Unit will also be onsite from 9 AM–3 PM, providing pre-registered pediatric health services. Appointments are limited and advance registration is required for Mobile Health Unit services. Email us for registration information.

75th St Fresh Foods Market is a shoppers choice experience of FREE GROCERIES to prepare healthy, balanced meals at home.

K Fresh Foods is being designed to be the community store for generations of families. It is being built to minimal overhead and we will past the saving to the customers. No private equity or shareholders. No price gouging.

A person earning minimum wage without government assistance will be able to shop for groceries to prepare balanced meals.

Feel free to hold us accountable -- the local community are the stakeholders.

August was a month of impact, opportunity and momentum. 💙💚🧡

Together with our partners, supporters, staff and community, The Kindness Campaign continued turning resources into real opportunities for Chicago families and young people.

🥕 40,000+ pounds of food shared with the community through our Fresh Foods Markets, pop-ups and community partnerships.

🍽️ 32,000+ healthy, balanced meals served throughout the community, including at senior buildings and shelters.

💼 200+ young adults completed summer employment, gaining real-world experience, exploring career pathways and taking important steps toward their futures.

These numbers represent more than food, meals and jobs. They represent families supported, young people given opportunities, and communities strengthened.

And we're not slowing down.

Thank you to everyone who continues to volunteer, partner, donate, advocate and believe in this work.
