💚Mayday Alert for BC Jimmy Gambill💚
Battalion Chief James “Jimmy” Gambill is a 25-year veteran of the Connersville Fire Department who has dedicated his career to serving the community. During his time with the department, Jimmy has risen through the ranks, serving as Lieutenant at Station No. 3 before becoming Battalion Chief on B Shift. On August 12, Connersville experienced historic rainfall that caused the Whitewater River to rise to approximately 23 feet, resulting in widespread and devastating flooding. Jimmy’s home was located directly in the worst of the flood zone, with water eventually reaching the gutters and causing extensive damage. Despite knowing his own home was in danger, Jimmy reported to work for overtime and continued helping the citizens of Connersville, just as he has throughout his 25 years of service.
After the floodwaters receded, Jimmy returned home with fellow firefighters to assess the damage and found that his house and belongings were a total loss. Even in the face of this devastating loss, Jimmy has remained focused on serving others rather than asking for assistance for himself. Several fellow firefighters have offered him a place to stay, but Jimmy has instead planned to stay at the firehouse, even on his days off. His commitment to his community and fellow firefighters reflects the same dedication he has demonstrated throughout his career. Let’s get Jimmy the support he deserves to rebuild his life and home.
