Don’t buy those “FREE” promises! Anti-abortion activists use messages like these to intercept pregnant people and use disinformation, shame, and scare tactics to convince them not to seek abortion care.

Anti-abortion centers may call themselves “pregnancy care centers,” but THAT’S NOT CARE. And it certainly isn’t healthcare.

EDGEWATER RESIDENTS: We spent the morning on N. Broadway to let people know that your neighborhood is home to an unregulated anti-abortion crisis pregnancy center (CPC).

⚠️ CPCs may look like clinics, but they are unregulated nonprofits with one purpose: to target pregnant people considering abortion and convince them not to have one. Most CPCs are not held to the medical standards that real clinics are, and they are not bound by HIPAA--which means any information you share with them is not protected by law. This is NOT healthcare: Proceed with caution!

WHAT YOU CAN DO: If you live in Edgewater, or any community with one of these CPCs, be sure to talk about it with your friends. Awareness is the first (and easiest) step that can prevent harm.
