GFWC Women's Civic League of Cheyenne

GFWC Women's Civic League of Cheyenne GFWC Women's Civic League of Cheyenne GFWC - Our club has been a member of the General Federation of Women's Club (GFWC) since its inception.

Women’s Civic League of Cheyenne (WCLC) was organized in 1948 and is dedicated to improving the community of Cheyenne and Laramie County through scholarships, direct grants, and service projects. These projects are initiated by club members or in collaboration with other non-profit organizations, charities, schools, or government agencies. Equally important is the development and support of each m

ember as she becomes a valued contributor to our community and club. We are proud to have granted, financed, or supported the requests of over 250 different organizations and special events in Laramie County. Over $1 million has been returned to our community in a variety of ways from projects as diverse as conservation projects and city park development, to education scholarships for young people and non-traditional women students returning to school, to support for the homeless, to name just a few. Our success is the collective expression of the individual commitment of our members to be active, involved, and supportive of our club’s endeavors. GFWC is an international women’s organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service. As one of the world’s oldest nonpartisan, nondenominational women’s volunteer service organizations, GFWC is now in its third century of volunteer service in communities throughout the United States and the world. Recent statistics reported to GFWC headquarters in Washington, D.C. indicate GFWC members raised nearly $32 million on behalf of more than 230,000 projects and volunteered more than 8.4 million hours. WCLC also belongs to the state organization, GFWC-Wyoming, which was organized in 1904. A portion of member dues pays for membership at both the state and international levels.

So many had a hand helping the 57th Annual Christmas House to make it a success. The proceeds from the profits go right back into our local community through grants and scholarships.

First off a huge heartfelt thanks to the generosity of Richard and Sonja Gage for gifting the use of their gorgeous home. Their next door neighbors allowing WCLC members to park on their property.

Thank you to those who purchased tickets, came to tour the home and shop.

Thank you sponsors for the generous donations, Our Savior Lutheran Church for parking and tea room, Cheyenne Street Railway Trolley and shuttle drivers for the rides, the talent and time of our club women. Special thanks to the Airmen from F.E. Warren who volunteered their time to help, we truly appreciate you and your service to our country.
