Cotton County Art Council had their first meeting of the new season at The Depot on Monday, September 8th. Officers provided the refreshments and some members provided the program by showing and telling about some things they did during the summer. Jennifer Carroll told about her goal of painting several beautiful churches. Celia Hawk shared two of her paintings. One was a scene in Colorado and the other was of her beloved dog. Robert Wright showed two of his 3D paintings. Lavonne High showed a trio of her paintings. Sharon Wiley amazed everyone with her wood carved shells that were comprised of several slices of different woods. Pattie Calfy Showed her photo titled Wheat, Water, & Wildflowers which won 2nd at the Lawton Farmer's Market Art Show. Anne Frable shared that her summer was taken up with home repairs. During the business meeting several activities were discussed for the coming season. The Council is very pleased that they will be working with the Dahlia Garden Club this year. It was suggested that the Council show their work possibly at the Chisholm Trail Art Council shows, The Paseo in Oklahoma City, and the Arts for All at Lawton. As always, the Council appreciates the support that they receive from the community and the Oklahoma Art Council. The next meeting will be October 13 at 6:00 pm at The Depot.
