We are almost 1 1/2 years into remission with 3 1/2 to go to earn that survivorship status!

Lane had his monthly check up yesterday and his blood continues to look good with zero signs of relapse!!! We are so blessed and pray he continues to receive good news!

We unfortunately have to continue to restrain him for a blood draw which is emotionally never easy but he refuses a finger poke. His nurses are so patient to give him time and try to make it easy before resorting to restraining him. It blows my mind he preferred his port to be accessed but I’m under the impression they just get use to it during treatment.

The little girls received play doh kits for Christmas that helped keep them busy and still. And it smells like Christmas!

We’ve completed 1 year in remission with 4 to go!

Lane’s blood work looks fantastic! We currently go see his oncology team every 2 months now for routine blood work.

Lane is doing fantastic and we pray that it continues that way!

Blood work does not go smoothly so we do not tend to get a happy little boy through part of the visit.

Happy Saturday!!!

It’s been a long while since we’ve posted which I know changes our algorithm. 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Since Lane had his port removed this past fall, we are officially able to live a normal life. And getting back to that after COVID and cancer has been crazy. Though I’m sure it will always be crazy….amd fun.

Lane sees his oncology team once a month for blood tests.
He’s in remission for 5 years so we keep an eye out for any missed or new cancer cells.
We continue to pray that we in fact got 100% of the cells and Lane does not relapse.

Lane had not received vaccines since he was 4 years old. We had to hold off while he was in treatment. He received 4 vaccines a few months ago and we received word, at Friday’s appointment, that his body did accept them!!!

We are a couple of months away from being out of treatment for a year. Once we hit the year mark, Lane will receive the live vaccines and then he will officially be caught up.

Lane is showing fantastic progress. His energy level is above and beyond. He’s an extremely active boy. He recently had chest X-rays and an EKG and the results show no damage. Part of the treatment children receive can damage the heart. We continue to thank the Lord he is doing so well.

Lane is partnering up with the Dare to Dream Days online campaign this week. The money Lane raises, goes directly to childhood cancer research with the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

LLS continues to conduct research to improve the cancer treatment of children. Currently, children receive the same chemo medicines as an adult. Children also face long-term side effects long into adulthood.

We’re 8 months out from end of treatment and this means Lane has begun catching up on his vaccinations.

He received 4 💉 at his previous visit. At today’s appointment, they sent off some blood samples to have a titer panel done which will tell us if any immunity was created from the vaccines he received.

Basically if the vaccines worked or not. 🤞

We will continue to slowly catch him up on any vaccinations he missed.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS exists to find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients.

As many of you know, my cousin, Lane, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in 2022. He underwent 26 months of chemotherapy and is currently cancer free. My goal with this fundraiser is to help the many kids that were Lane's age, or younger, with their treatment and to help with cancer research so that no family has to go through what ours did.

LLS not only supports families impacted by lymphoma and leukemia, but they also continue to work towards finding better treatments for these children facing cancer.
