Looking at Roux all suited up in, it's hard not to draw a parallel to our own daily lives. She is wearing her fly mask and protective sheet—her personal suit of armor against relentless flies, pests, and the harsh sun. She might look a bit bundled up for a warm day, but that gear is absolutely essential for her peace and protection while she stands in the pasture.
It immediately brings to mind the Armor of God:
"Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes." — Ephesians 6:11
Just like Roux needs her protective layers before stepping out to graze, we are called to equip ourselves before facing the day. The world can throw a lot of relentless "pests" our way—stress, negativity, doubt, and unseen battles that try to irritate us and steal our peace.
God doesn't leave us defenseless out in the open. He provides us with spiritual protection: the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, and the helmet of salvation to guard our hearts and minds.
When we intentionally put on this spiritual armor every morning, we can stand firm and find peace, no matter what is buzzing around trying to distract or harm us. 🐴🛡️⚔️
