💔 11 YEARS. NO ARREST. NO ANSWERS.

On Saturday, August 1, 2015, at approximately midnight, Chesapeake Police responded to reports of gunfire near Berkley Avenue and Crystal Avenue in the South Norfolk section of Chesapeake, Virginia.

When officers arrived, they discovered 35-year-old William “Newby” Watkins, a Portsmouth resident, lying in the yard of a home in the 600 block of Crystal Avenue.

He had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.

More than 11 years later, Newby's murder remains unsolved. Someone may remember that night.

COLD CASE: WHO KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED ON ERIC COURT?

📌A gunshot in the middle of the night. A man falling to the ground. More shots fired at close range. A suspect fleeing on foot.

Nearly 20 years later, the murder of Marquis Dixon remains unsolved.

On Wednesday, August 29, 2007, shortly before 2:30 a.m., Marquis Dixon was shot and killed in the street in front of the 2800 block of Eric Court in the Deep Creek section of Chesapeake.

A witness reported hearing a gunshot and looking out a window to see Marquis fall to the ground. An unknown assailant then fired several additional shots at him from close range.

The suspect was described as a Black male with short hair, wearing dark clothing. As he fled on foot, he reportedly fired another shot toward 2821 Eric Court, where Marquis had been staying.

Another witness reported seeing a Black male with cornrows or short dreadlocks running from the area after hearing gunshots. Police searched the area but were unable to locate either individual. A knife was found near Marquis.

Who was on Eric Court that night? Who knows why Marquis was killed?

Someone may remember seeing a person running from the area, hearing an argument, or learning something about the shooting in the years since.

Almost two decades have passed. Relationships change. Loyalties shift. Someone who remained silent in 2007 may be ready to speak today.

On June 30, 2020, shortly after 9:00 p.m., X’Zavier Roberts was shot and killed in the 1800 block of Hoover Avenue in the South Norfolk section of Chesapeake, Va.

Friends who were nearby told investigators they did not see who shot him, but they did provide one important detail: X’Zavier was in the area to meet someone.

Who was he meeting?

Someone may know who X’Zavier was communicating with that night, why he went to Hoover Avenue, or what happened in the moments before he was killed.

🚨 HE DIDN’T DIE IN THE CRASH. TREVOR BALDWIN HAD BEEN SHOT.

On Tuesday night, September 30, 2014, Chesapeake Police responded after a silver Buick went off Dunedin Drive in Western Branch and struck a tree.

Inside, officers found the driver, 20-year-old Trevor Baldwin, unresponsive. Trevor had been shot and died at the scene.

More than 12 years later, his murder remains unsolved.

Trevor’s family is still searching for answers. Maybe you heard something years ago, or something that seemed insignificant then matters now. Relationships and loyalties change.

TOMORROW MARKS 6 YEARS.

On October 1, 2020, 29-year-old Datron Porch was shot and killed near 2008 Linster Street in Chesapeake’s South Norfolk community.

Police were called to the area shortly before 10 p.m. after reports of gunfire. Datron was found suffering from a gunshot wound. Several vehicles and a nearby home were also struck by gunfire.

Six years later, Datron’s homicide remains unsolved.

Think about that night.

Who was on Linster Street?
Who heard the gunshots?
Who saw someone leave the area?
Who heard something afterward that didn’t seem important at the time?

/ 26-126036: On September 23, 2026, at approximately 8:19 p.m., the pictured subjects entered a business in the 1400 block of George Washington Highway. One subject, who was armed with a fi***rm, stole approximately $177 from the cash register, while the second subject stole approximately $2,400 worth of Virginia Lottery tickets. Both subjects fled the business and were last seen heading toward the City of Portsmouth.

Chesapeake Police Seek Man Wanted in Connection with Holly Cove Drive Homicide

Chesapeake police are seeking Omar Malik Patterson, 28, in connection with a homicide that occurred on September 24, 2026, in the 3900 block of Holly Cove Drive. Patterson fled the area following the incident and is considered armed and dangerous.

Patterson is a Black male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and 182 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes and multiple tattoos on his face. He has ties to Chesapeake, Norfolk and Virginia Beach.

Anyone who sees Patterson should not approach him and should call 911.
