Lilly and Birdie have COMPLETED heartworm treatment injections! Now we need help covering these invoices. We pulled both pups without any donations or pledges

Heartworms unfortunately is a common, yet treatable condition we deal with ALOT...like ALOT. Some dogs do not get rescue commitment due to this condition as it's pricey to treat but we simply can't not allow a dog to lose its life over this treatable condition.

It's SO important to keep your pups on monthly heartworm prevention. A few bucks spent on a monthly pill will save you thousands and lots of trouble saved for your pet as well.

We must fundraise for this

Breakdown of HW treatment (fast kill) in order

-Positive heartworm test
-30 days of doxy (antibiotic)
-first injection is administered
-30 day rest period
-after 30 days rest, the 2nd injection is given
-24 hours after 2nd injection, the 3rd and final injection is administered

Poppy was found by one of our followers. She has had her in her possession since the local shelter was packed. Poppy found the right person as she got her vetted and weight on to make her happy and healthy. Poppy is living indoors now and doing quite well. She crates nicely, enjoys leash walks, and sunbathing. We will update her bio as she settles in more.

HELP NEEDED

Big ask I'm going to RIAC tomorrow AM and Friday AM. I just need help Friday afternoon as my son has an appt that he cant miss. Can I get some help?

Florence - Hound mix, tricolor with dapple, female, 6-8y, 48lbs. Florence is a relaxed, friendly, treat motivated sweetheart with a waggy tail and a thoroughly pleasant disposition. Such a nice temperament! She came in with a slight limp from a leg injury sustained before intake - photos available on request - but is healing and doing well. A lovely, easygoing girl. Florence came to the shelter as a stray.

I have an additional update, as I was in the shelter yesterday and her foot did NOT look great any longer. 😞 It was well on its way to healing last week but it has taken a turn; she's no longer weight-bearing on it and the skin is far from healthy tissue. We plan to pull Florence from the shelter to vetting tomorrow, but we're seeking a place for her to land on the other side. I do have photos of the foot from yesterday if that helps to inform any suggestions you might have.

Freya's pups are now 2 weeks old! First deworming done and 2 week old pictures completed. Applications will be accepted in 4 weeks! More info will follow when its time for anyone interested in giving these sweet babies a forever home
