CCRT is a small scale volunteer operation that focuses on trapping at large strays & runaway pets on the East Coast. CCRT is named after my (Emma) rescued English Coonhound, Clifford, who accompanied me to all trapping adventures and rescue missions. He will live on forever through the lives we save! We do not charge for any trapping services. We have the following equipment:-Miss

y Traps-Raytripper Sensors -Collarums-Catch Poles-Cellular Cameras- Box traps

We take in the trapped strays when Animal Control allows us to do so. We also focus on Hound breeds that are at risk in shelters. Although we focus on hound breeds, we also take in other breeds as well (we love saving Texas dogs!!)

Adoption process is as follows:
Step 1: Adoption application (must be approved before meet and greets)

Step 2: Home check

Step 3: Meet and greet (if local)

Step 4: Start 2 week trial-once 2 week trial is up if all goes well adoption fee is to be paid

ADOPTION FEES:

Dogs 7 years and under- $275
Dogs 8 years and older $175

all of our age appropriate animals are altered before adoption unless otherwise stated (we pay for spay/neuter once old enough if too young when adopted)

Small rocky update. Look how much better he looks. It's unbelievable! Lynsie, his foster, is who to thank for many things. First for texting me back when I was panicking to save him and her response was "I can make it work for a mangy staffy"

Secondly he looks a million times better thanks to her care she has provided. Lucky him, Lynsie is a groomer so he has been going to work every other day for medicated baths.

Lynsie also reported he has done well with other dogs and loves people. He has free roam to a room with no marking/potty accidents at all! Easy house guest

Rocky will be leaving TX for good Thursday and I will bw going to Richmond late Friday to pick him up. He has his neuter scheduled for the 8th. We will be scheduling his HW injections then too as he is a daily cough which stinks but those injections will knock the worms right out and he will be so much better off. Stay tuned as the next Rocky update will be a major step towards his new chapter

We are accepting LOCAL (within 3 hours of Chesapeake VA) foster applications. Rocky is wonderful inside, no accidents, no issues with other dogs etc.

Our next big project for Cliff's Cottage is a very important one. Epoxy for the outdoor runs. They are currently concrete that i sealed but after so much use and cleaning, the sealant is gone which now has the dogs on porous concrete. Not only is it hard to clean but it poses a health risk (parasites) as i can not effectively clean no matter what. I do not have a quote yet as I'm in between us doing the work or hiring a company. It may be best for us to hire the pros though! The inside epoxy has had no issues and I'd like to keep it that way 😄

Meet our NEWEST and CUTEST CCRT boy, Luke! This SUPER handsome, HUGE (77 pounds and underweight) old fashioned Black & Tan Coonhound found himself at Amelia Animal Control. We were asked if we could help and thanks to some pending adoptions I felt comfortable to take him on.

He has a few things that need to addressing (as you see the masses) BUT unfortunately his neuter incision is infected. The vet he went to must be having a sterilizing issue as one who was neutered passed away due to septisis and another is not well therefore I'm taking him to RIAC tomorrow as I rather not take any chances.

That being said if you would like to donate to his care, that would be much appreciated! The GOOD news other than he is literally the BEST (quiet, loves people, dogs, cats, kids, etc he is SUPER awesome) he is 4DX NEGATIVE!!!! (Very rare occurrence for us)

We will be accepting applications for Luke as we can start the screening process while he get him to 100% health

5/31 update: Ms. Wilda is back home with lots of meds on board. With her timid nature I'm glad she's back with people who make her comfortable and her doggy friends. It sounds like we will be getting a good refund back so as of now we do not need anymore funds towards Wilda. Thank you everyone

SOS EMERGENCY

Wilda, the brave snake warrior, took it upon herself to battle a copperhead. How brave. Her and her friend did win the battle but paying the price LITERALLY.

Her fabulous foster mom took action quickly and rushed her and her personal dog to CARE in Williamsburg. We decided to focus on just the actual treatment so declined the bloodwork. We just paid the deposit of $2,600 for her to be hospitalized and start treatment immediately.
