We're thrilled to announce we've rescheduled the Liturgical Groundbreaking on our new nave for June 14 at 2 pm! Please come and join us as we "ascend the hill of the Lord" and "stand in his holy place" (Ps. 24:3) together as we prayerfully begin this new chapter in our life together! Bishop Glenda Curry will be presiding, and a small reception will follow in the parish hall.

Happy Pentecost Sunday!

Blessed Feast of the Ascension to all of you!

Blessed Feast of the Ascension to all of you!

Today is Ascension Day, when the Church celebrates the risen Christ returning to the Father.

In the Gospel, Jesus blesses his disciples and is taken from their sight. This is not an ending, but a new beginning. Christ’s ascension affirms his authority and points to his continuing presence, as the disciples are sent out with joy to bear witness to what they have seen.

Ascension Day reminds us that Christ reigns with God and calls us to live as his witnesses in the world.

Scripture reading: Luke 24:50–51, 52–53

‘Then he led them out as far as Bethany, and, lifting up his hands, he blessed them. While he was blessing them, he withdrew from them and was carried up into heaven.

And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy; and they were continually in the temple blessing God.’

Prayer

Risen and ascended Lord,
you reign in glory and fill all things with your presence.
Lift our hearts to where you are,
and strengthen us to bear witness to your love.
Send us out in joy and faith,
to serve you in the world you came to save.

Amen.

Today is the Feast Day of our Patron Saint, Saint Catherine of Siena! Called 'the practical mystic,' Catherine led a life devoted to uniting prayer and action. We at Saint Catherine's strive to be as devoted to God in word and in deed as she was, as we follow Christ's and Catherine's examples of love!

Almighty and everlasting God, who kindled the flame of your love in the heart of your servant Catherine of Siena: Grant unto us the same strength of conviction and power of love that, as we rejoice in her triumph, we may profit by her example; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Come join us tonight for Tenebrae, a Service of Shadows, tonight at 6:00! As we recite penitential psalms in candlelight at the close of day this Holy Wednesday, and as we hear the weeping prophet Jeremiah calling us to return to the Lord… as the candles are extinguished one by one, our hearts and minds and souls are prepared to enter into the mystery of the Great Three Days, the Triduum. Blessed Holy Week to all of you ❤️🙏🏻🕯️
