As Childhood Cancer Awareness Month comes to an end, far too many parents—including me—are still left with our children in Heaven. September ends. Our grief doesn’t. And for families still fighting, the battle continues.
This picture is part of my everyday reality. A photograph, an urn, and memories of a little girl I would give anything to hold again.
I miss my daughter so much. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t say Destiny’s name, talk about her, or remember the love she brought into this world. She made an incredible impact on so many lives—including mine, her own dad. She continues to shape the person I am today.
From the deepest place in my heart, I’m pleading with you: please get involved. Together, we can be a light for families walking through something no parent or child should ever have to face. We can help ease their burdens, remind them they aren’t alone, and support research that brings us closer to a cure for this horrible disease.
