That means dogs in dangerous situations may have to wait unless more people step up to foster. Every open home creates another lifesaving opportunity.

Meet Al 💛

Al was adopted as a puppy…

and returned as an adult.

There were no behavior issues. No dramatic story. Just the reality that he grew up—and somewhere along the way, he was no longer a “puppy fit.”

Now he’s back with us, waiting for someone who sees adult dogs for what they are: incredible companions with so much love still to give.

Meet Lincoln 💛

Lincoln is not a beginner dog.

He is looking for a very specific, experienced home that understands complex behavior and is willing to move at his pace—not rush him into one.

Lincoln can be shy at first and may choose to hide when meeting new people. The world outside of rescue has always felt overwhelming for him, and he needs time to feel safe.

What Lincoln needs:

💛 Single-dog household only
💛 Multiple meet-and-greets before adoption
💛 An experienced handler familiar with reactivity
💛 A calm, structured, predictable environment

Lincoln is:

• Dog reactive and anxious around other dogs
• Not suitable for dog parks or group play
• Easily overstimulated in new environments
• Still learning leash manners and basic obedience
• Unsure around strangers and unfamiliar situations

But with time, patience, and trust, Lincoln can begin to show a softer, more connected side of himself.

Meet Nightshade 💛

Her foster says she’s an amazing match for a first-time dog owner or a single person looking for a loyal, affectionate companion. She’s settling in beautifully and hasn’t had any potty accidents outside of a couple early “oopsies” (closet adventures included 😂), which improved quickly with structure and boundaries.

Like many puppies, she’s still working on manners—mainly excitement jumping and “I must be in your personal space at all times” energy—but she’s already learning fast.

🐾 Bad at (for now):
• Jumping for attention
• Playfully blocking your path like it’s her job
• “Helping” you walk by constantly checking you’re still there
• Scarfing food like she’s training for a competition
• Face-to-face enthusiasm overload 😂
• Occasional sneaky closet potty moments (solved with closed doors)
• Curious about other dogs’ food bowls

🐾 Good at:
• Learning potty routines quickly (even went on command at bedtime!)
• Sleeping out of the crate at night with no issues
• Quick corrections—she redirects well when told “no chewing”
• Friendly with other dogs, even when corrected
• Using the doggy door like a pro
• Hanging out calmly nearby while her foster works (she’s very proud of this job)

🐾 Working on:
• “In your place” / crate command consistency
• Recall (“come here”)—likely an easy win with time
• Leash skills and polite walking

Nightshade is sweet, social, and deeply people-oriented. She wants to be involved in everything you do—and she’s just learning the best ways to show it.
