We received yet another accolade from our recent oil painting exhibit titled "Our Beautiful Butte" featuring the artwork of Ron McGaughey. The paintings in the exhibit contain scenes of, or from, the iconic Chelan Butte, with net proceeds going to CBC. The following quote comes from Cindy Sattler:

“With 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Chelan Basin Conservancy, I was so lucky to not only make a donation to a worthy cause, but I also received a beautiful piece of art for free! The Chelan Butte is a unique asset to the Chelan Community, and the work the Chelan Basin Conservancy is doing to promote responsible growth, preserve public access and ensure future generations can enjoy the beauty of our natural resources deserves everyone's support. I can't wait to bring home the Butte Winter Scene when the art show ends in August.”

Accolades continue to roll in from our recent grand opening oil painting exhibit titled "Our Beautiful Butte" featuring the work of Ron McGaughey. The paintings in the exhibit contain scenes of, or from, the iconic Chelan Butte, with net proceeds going to CBC. We recently received a quote from Concie Luna, that we’d like to share with you.

“I walked into the opening night of the Ron McGaughey/Butte Art Show intending to buy. Ron is a friend and an artist I admire. Along with that I support the Chelan Basin Conservancy and their efforts on behalf of all the residents of the Lake Chelan Valley.
What really brought me to the purchase point was all the years of stories and experiences that spread across four generations of my family. My folks had a Haida Hide A-frame kit built with help of friends with the Butte as foreman in the job in the 1970s. My kids and I watching for snow to clear the top so we could plant our garden in the later 70’s. Hiking in search of wildflowers in the Spring. Watching hang gliders floating the air currents all the way to Ritzville or Canada. Listening to the grandkids organize their climb to the top once, twice, three times every year over the last few years.

I suppose I should buy a painting for each grandchild. Art means a lot in our family. So does the Butte. Thanks Ron for capturing it so well. Thanks CBC for working to save it for all of us.”

On June 18th CBC held a very successful grand opening of an oil painting exhibit titled "Our Beautiful Butte" featuring the artistic creativity of Ron McGaughey. The paintings in the exhibit contain scenes of, or from, the iconic Chelan Butte. A third of the paintings were sold that evening, with net proceeds going to CBC.

CBC's Vice President Lisa Igarvich recently interviewed Ron, which is captured in the short video below. The insightful interview highlights why Ron has aligned his creative talents with CBC's goal to preserve the Butte.

Yesterday’s grand opening reception for the Our Beautiful Butte oil painting exhibit was a tremendous success! A third of the over-30 paintings available were sold, with net proceeds going to CBC. We have endless gratitude to local artist Ron McGaughey for donating his phenomenal artwork for this fundraiser.

Paintings provide views of, or from, the Chelan Butte. Our community clearly connects with the visual beauty of the undeveloped Butte.

Thank you to the Vogue Coffee Bar in downtown Chelan for hosting the reception and the exhibit through August 1st. Come by and take a look! There are still plenty of paintings remaining for sale.

A few weeks ago a vehicle took out the Clean, Drain, Dry sign in Lakeside. Fortunately, the metal sign was only a little worse for wear, so we reinstalled a new wood substructure today and put the sign back up. Almost good as new!

Chelan Earth Day Fair is coming up soon at Riverwalk Park on Saturday April 18th! CBC will again have a booth at the Fair and we invite you to stop by, say hello, and get updated on our efforts.

We are also excited to be offering raffle tickets for $10 each for a two-night stay at Sleeping Lady resort in Leavenworth that comes with a $100 food & beverage credit ($800 total value).
