We Have a Winner! 🐟🎉
Thrive Chelan Valley’s College & Career Day nonprofit contest brought out some incredible creativity... but one idea rose to the top! After a very close vote, we’re excited to announce the winner… Noah Fisher! 👏

Noah’s nonprofit idea, Fun with Fish, focuses on connecting people to Washington’s lakes, rivers, and creeks while teaching how our actions impact aquatic life. His goal? To inspire others to protect our parks, keep waterways clean, and create a better world for our fish. 🌎💙

Way to go, Noah... and enjoy that $25 Starbucks card! ☕ If you created a nonprofit idea on College & Career Day and would like to explore it further, please email [email protected] or [email protected], and we’ll set up a time to meet with you!

We are so grateful for the incredible support our teen centers received last week! 💛

A huge thank you to Josh & Allison at County Line for serving up a favorite... spaghetti and garlic bread! Our teens and volunteers loved gathering around such a delicious, family-style meal!

And thanks to our amazing donors who help keep our freezer and fridge stocked, our volunteers and staff were able to prepare another great meal on Thursday... corn dogs, mac & cheese, veggies, and fruit. It was a hit, and our teens were in heaven!

We continue to be so thankful for the love and generosity this valley shows our youth.

We’re open through May, and if you’d like to donate a meal, please reach out to Jennie at [email protected]. We’d love to have you involved!

This week we had the honor of presenting at Chelan Middle School’s College & Career Day!

Instead of just sharing about Thrive, we decided to talk about grassroots nonprofits as a whole... what they are, how they start, and how they can make a big difference in a community. We shared a little about Thrive’s history, gave both big and local examples (including ones that were started by students just like them!), and then challenged the students to create their own nonprofit.

They came up with a name, a logo, what they would need to get started, and more. And, of course, we turned it into a contest to help motivate everyone on a half day at school. The winning idea will receive a $25 Starbucks gift card next week! ☕

We were blown away by their creativity and heart for helping others. Here are just a few of the ideas they came up with:

• Baby Boxes: Providing boxes filled with essentials for new parents who need extra support.
• Fun With Fish: Teaching people about fish in local rivers and lakes to encourage caring for our waterways and reducing litter.
• Bill Breakers: Helping people pay off medical bills so they don’t have to face overwhelming debt after a doctor visit.

Their ideas, compassion, and creativity truly warmed our hearts. 💙 We can’t wait to see what this next generation of change-makers does!

❄️ Due to snow, the Manson Teen Center will be closed today (03-13-2026).

This is never an easy decision, but the safety of our students, staff, and volunteers always comes first. Thank you for understanding!

We’ll see everyone next week… when the forecast is somehow supposed to be in the high 60s! ☀️

🥘Thank you to Josh and Allison at County Line for the delicious enchilada casserole they made for our teens! Tuesday night’s dinner was definitely a hit!

🍕And a big thank you to Will at Westside Pizza for supplying dinner in Chelan on Thursday and lunch in Manson on Friday!

We continue to be blown away by the generosity of our community and the way people step up to show the teens in our valley that they are loved beyond measure.

Please help us support the local businesses that make giving back such a priority. We are so grateful. Feeling blessed. 💛

There’s something really special about living and serving in a small town 💛

A long time ago, after some major plumbing work at Lake Chelan United Methodist Church, one of our Chelan Teen Center bathrooms was left with a concrete section on the floor, that we covered with a small rug. It worked… but it definitely wasn’t the warm, welcoming space our teens deserve.

Thanks to Mario and Felipe at MG Flooring, we now have beautiful new floors! They truly transformed the space. Mario is a CHS grad who was at the high school when I worked there, and it was such a joy to reconnect and see the amazing work he’s doing. We love these small-town connections!

After the flooring went in, our wonderful volunteer Dwight Otto came by and trimmed the door so it would close perfectly over the new trim. Then Geoff and Jennie Dalgas jumped in to reinstall the toilet and help get everything back in place!

It took a team... and we are so incredibly grateful for the collective effort that made this happen. The bathroom is now refreshed, functional, and ready for our teens and volunteers!

And truly, none of this would be possible without our faithful and generous donors who continue to invest in creating safe, welcoming spaces for youth in our community. ❤️

If you need any flooring done, give MG Flooring a call! They did such a fantastic job, and we’re so thankful for them!

Did you know that Thrive delivers 187 weekend meal bags every single week to students in Chelan and Manson who need a little extra support when they’re not in school? 💛

Today, we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible team that makes this happen week after week.

First, a huge thank you to the Lake Chelan School District for providing a climate-controlled space in the district office to store the food... sometimes housing more than 800 bags at a time!

We’re also so grateful for our partnership with Second Harvest. Once a month, volunteer drivers Scott and Bryan travel all the way from Spokane to deliver pre-packed bags ready to go straight into the hands of our students.

Our amazing CSI students and staff jump in to help unload that big truck and stack every box inside the district office. Then each week, our dedicated volunteers (Valerie, Jeanette, and Tracy) carefully count and sort the bags for each counselor and school contact who helps distribute them.

Debbie and Tom Knaub faithfully pick up and deliver bags every week for MOE, and Stacy and Greg Bjarnason do the same for Manson School District, making sure the bags get directly to their counselor/CIS representative.

It’s an incredible circle of generosity that runs like clockwork... and it truly takes every single one of these partners and volunteers to make it happen.

We couldn’t do this without you. Thank you for showing up for our students in such a tangible, consistent, and caring way. 💙

Last week our teen centers were absolutely spoiled with love and generosity... and we are so incredibly grateful!

On Tuesday, Josh & Allison at County Line treated our teens to delicious Sloppy Joes that were such a hit! Thursday brought an amazing Pasta Bar put together by Cristin Kingman, one of our wonderful teen center volunteers (what a gift it is to have volunteers who care so deeply❤️)! And on Friday, Robin Hanson from Manson School District provided a yummy picnic lunch with all the fixings! We loved soaking up the sunshine and enjoying a meal together outside!

It’s hard to put into words what these meals mean. It’s not just food... it’s connection, care, and a reminder to our teens that this community shows up for them. Thank you for helping make our teen centers places where youth feel seen, supported, and loved. 💛
