StreetHeart and Galewood Early Elementary School partnered together for a May Day Celebration!

The Kindergarteners paraded through the StreetHeart Neighborhood with their artful umbrellas, and stopped to create flower art with our Block Leaders!

We are always so inspired by the kids and how they work together to bring so much color and joy to our Neighborhood!

Huge thank you to the teachers, the volunteers, the Block Leaders, and all the parents who made today so much fun!!

A beautiful day to walk through the Neighborhood and get to know some of our neighbors!

Eaton Community Health is excited to announce our StreetHeart Neighborhood Coordinator, Lyndsey Finch.

Lyndsey is a dedicated professional with a background in community wellness, public service, and operational management. Formerly serving as a Wellness Attendant at AL!VE, Lyndsey played a vital role in advancing the organization’s mission to improve the overall health and vitality of Charlotte. Lyndsey also enjoys working seasonally for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) at Ionia State Recreation Area. She managed park maintenance and collaborated with trail specialists to preserve local ecosystems and recreational paths, demonstrating her deep love and commitment to public land, stewardship, and community
safety.

Lyndsey is the mother of four, Parker, Merrik, Trinity, and Amber Thompson. Lyndsey has a four-legged companion who goes by the name of Ocie May. In her spare time, Lyndsey enjoys looking up at trees and often relates what she observes to the works of A.A. Milne.“Each bee improved each shining hour by something honey, something something, every flower.”

StreetHeart Neighborhood Happy Little 5K

The second annual StreetHeart Run for the Trees Neighborhood 5k Walk is scheduled for Sunday April 26th at 1pm.

Neighbors are encouraged to join StreetHeart Block Leaders for a walk through the neighborhood in support of Michgian DNR.

StreetHeart Block Leaders partnered with Lawrence Avenue United Methodist Church to host Rock the Crock, a neighborhood cooking initiative designed to strengthen connections, encourage shared meals, and build community through food.
Twelve Families were enrolled in this program that provided one meal a week for six weeks. Participants were encouraged to connect with one another through a private facebook group to share photos and feedback on their experiences each week.

Key Outcomes:
* Increased Neighborhood Connection
* Increased Family Meal Engagement
* Participant Satisfaction

Community Impact:
Several participants indicated this was their first experience connecting with StreetHeart or Lawrence Avenue. Rock the Crock served not only as a cooking initiative, but also as an entry point into deeper neighborhood engagement.

By combining food, tools, recipes, and neighbor-led facilitation, the program strengthened relationships, supported family connection, and expanded community reach.

StreetHeart and Lawrence Avenue wrapped up year two of Rock the Crock last night with a pancake dinner.

Thank you to all of the Block Leaders, volunteers, and participants who joined us in this six week neighborhood cooking program. 🧑‍🍳

We hope everyone had fun connecting with their neighbors and neighborhood!
