Encore Theatrical Arts Project (ETAP) is a performing arts company based just outside of Washington DC. Founded in 1996 by award-winning performer, director and choreographer, Raynor van der Merwe; ETAP was created to provide advanced musical theatre dancers with the training, education, and performance opportunities to prepare them for successful professional careers in musical theatre. Over 25 y
ears later, ETAP is an esteemed performing arts company that has staged and produced over 50 productions and several thousand performances of their very own original musicals. The company has participated in cultural exchanges of music and dance with over 100,000 audience members worldwide. ETAP has traveled on international performance tours to China, Spain, Italy, France, Greece, and South Africa. Their alumni have been seen performing on Broadway, at Radio City Music Hall as Rockettes, on US National Touring Companies, and on well-known Cruise Ships. Recognizing that the arts enrich all of our lives, the mission of Encore Theatrical Arts Project was created to entertain and enlighten audiences with a wide range of musical and dance genres, while providing educational and performing opportunities for aspiring professionals.
