Today, Champaign Regional Speedskating held its annual awards ceremony. Those photographs are forthcoming. But this moment calls for recognition for the man who is always working in the background, never taking credit, and always putting his heart and soul into our club. It is selfless and often thankless work, and Champaign Regional Speedskating would not be the thriving organization it is today without Randy Sears. Cheers to you, Randy. Does Champaign have a new long tracker? Junior F skater Jancsi gave the oval a whirl and raced the 500m and 1500m (2:50!) time trial at the Pettit National Ice Center’s season finale. Way to go, young man. We are clap-clap-clap-clap-clapping for you all the way.

Coach Bruce made the trip up to ensure Jancsi changed lanes and nailed his races and Coach Theron also raced the 1000m and 3000m. Good job, all!
