Important Service Update from Hope Alliance- July 24, 2026

Unfortunately, significant changes are about to take place at Hope Alliance. Our agency is facing a $300,000 budget shortfall this fiscal year simply to maintain the level of services we provided during previous years.

As a result of this funding crisis, beginning in mid-August 2026, Hope Alliance will no longer be able to provide 24/7 advocacy services. Our agency will operate Monday through Friday during regular business hours: 8:30 AM- 4:30 PM.

Effective at that time:
• Our crisis hotline will no longer be staffed after business hours or on weekends.
• Individuals calling after hours for domestic violence services will be provided information for the National Domestic Violence Hotline.
• Individuals seeking support following a sexual assault will have their call forwarded to an out-of-county advocacy program, which will provide support over the phone.
• Hope Alliance advocates will no longer be able to respond to hospital calls outside of regular business hours to provide in-person support to sexual assault survivors.

We recognize that these changes will have a significant impact on survivors in our community. While we are heartbroken that financial constraints have forced these reductions, our commitment to serving victims of domestic violence and sexual assault remains unchanged.

We encourage anyone needing assistance outside of business hours to leave a voicemail message. Our advocates will return calls as soon as possible during business hours and will continue to provide advocacy, safety planning, support, referrals, and assistance navigating available resources. The new phone numbers will be publicly shared in a couple of weeks.

These decisions were not made lightly. We remain committed to seeking additional funding opportunities that will allow us to restore these critical services in the future. We are deeply grateful for the continued support of our community as we work to ensure Hope Alliance can continue serving survivors in Lewis County.

Instead of asking, "Why doesn't she leave?" ask, "Why does he abuse?"
The responsibility for abuse belongs with the person choosing to abuse—not the person trying to survive it.
