As I have been working on a Grant Application the last few days, I have been reminded that:
This project (the proposed capital campaign Grant) will create a strategic direction for the Mission as we move to a new decade and the need that will follow. This project will force the Mission to not only think about today or tomorrow, but HOW do social, economic, political changes effect the needs of the people that we serve? We can no longer operate as though only those events in Lewis County Washington affect the people who find their way to the Mission’s doors. The Mission can no longer provide meals seven days a week and think we have “done our part”. We must have vision beyond what will be served for breakfast tomorrow morning. The City of Chehalis needs that vision, Lewis County Needs that Vision, The State of Washinton needs that vision, the US needs that vision, and our world needs that vision.
As Christians, this was clearly the point of the "great commission." The Gospel of Christ should be foundational to everything that we do! Christ showed by example how to treat people, how to get along, how to serve, how to live humbly, how to seek justice and how to walk humbly with God.
Please be praying for the Mission as we continue to serve an ever growing population of homeless and needy people in Lewis County and the surrounding areas.
Thank You! Rollin
