The only response to a family in crisis and people hurt is love and prayer.

I am deeply disturbed by comments I see online that are judging gender expression, education and economic status of people who are hurting. None of that matters.

Children and family members are hurting. (17 is definitely a child). A community is on edge.

I am praying Gods peace and comfort be with every single one. Jesus died for every single one.

I am available for conversation and prayer to anyone in the community

It was such a joy and honor to be asked back to Okoboji to baptize these great young men. (With Pastor Chris’ blessing). They were part of my afterschool program at Calvary. The Lakes will always be home for me. It was a great pleasure to visit with some dear friends

New Testament scholar N.T. Wright is drawing attention after arguing that 1 Timothy 2 should not be used as a blanket ban on women preaching in the church. Speaking in a recent interview, Wright pointed to women like Phoebe and Mary Magdalene as key biblical examples of women entrusted with proclaiming God’s truth.

Wright said Phoebe likely carried Paul’s letter to the Romans, read it publicly, and explained it to the church in Rome, making her one of the earliest public expositors of one of Christianity’s most important texts. He also highlighted Mary Magdalene, whom Jesus personally sent to announce His resurrection, calling her role foundational to Gospel proclamation.

Addressing 1 Timothy 2 directly, Wright argued that the passage is more context-specific than many assume. He suggested Paul’s words may have been aimed at women improperly seizing authority in a particular setting, not forbidding all women from teaching for all time. For many Christians, Wright’s comments reopen an important conversation about biblical interpretation, women in ministry, and how the Church should understand faithfulness to Scripture.
