Hickman County Quilt Guild - HCQG A Tennessee Non-profit Quilting Club The Hickman County Quilt Guild is a Tennessee and IRS 501(3)(c) non-profit organization.

Its great way to meet new persons who love sewing. Starting January 1, 2025, there is a $15 fee to become a member of the Guild. As a member in good standing, you will receive 1 free sewing class of your choosing each year. As a general rule, the guild meets the first Monday of each month for a business meeting. We also offer sewing classes on the 2nd Tuesday and 3rd Saturday each month for $20 pe

r person. Check under our events for more info on sewing classes. Quilting services are also offered so feel free to email us for more details. COME JOIN US IN YOUR LOVE OF QUILTING or just good plain fun camaraderie!!

The Quilt Guild worked on Rail Fence blocks yesterday at The Church of Centerville during their setup for their Friends and Family event on Sunday. We are thankful to have this space for sewing classes.

Edited: Sewing class on Saturday, August 15 from 10-12. Sam will be teaching this class. You will be given precut fabric to make a block to go into a Quilt of Valor. You will need your sewing machine, gray or beige thread, and basic sewing supplies. Location is The Church at Centerville, 123 Church St., Centerville. This will be the last HCQG class.

FYI - Tomorrow and Wednesday are our scheduled days for the Summer Reading Program. "Unearth A Story" is the theme this year and we have an adorable Dinosaur quilt ready for our future quilters to sign their names to. Come help if you can. It's a fun time for us to initiate the quilting culture to the younger kids. If you're interested be at the Hickman County Public Library in Centerville at 9:30 tomorrow or on Wednesday, at the East Hickman Public Library at 10.

The quilt guild will be participating in the Summer Reading Program at the Hickman County Public Libraries on Tuesday, July 14 (Centerville-10:00) & Wednesday, July 15th (Lyles-11:00). Our dinosaur-themed quilt aligns with the Unearth A Story theme. We invite you to join us in interacting with the children. Your presence on either day would be greatly appreciated, as it promises to be a fun event.

We had a very enthusiastic group of kids from the Centerville Elementary School Summer program. We had a program on what it takes to make a quilt. Then each class of children made their own 9 patch block. Take a look at these future quilters and their beautiful renderings of a quilt block. It was a fun day. Do you want to learn how to make a "Stained Glass" wall hanging? Well, Nancy T Knaus will be demonstrating this technique at our next class. Nancy has been teaching and creating beautiful quilts for many years. Nancy is providing the materials and you will need to bring your sewing machine and regular notions, along with black thread.You will love this class and I hope you will reserve a space now for her class. Additionally, we're sponsoring our June retreat with Sam Coyle. Here's the details: Retreat on June 18, 19 & 20 from 9-5. "Stained Glass" class on Saturday, June 20th from 10-12. The retreat is $10/day and the class is $20. All at The Church at Centerville, (Baptist Church), 123 Church St., Centerville, TN.
