Our storytellers will lead small groups through Centerville's darkest corners. You'll stand under the windows where footsteps cross empty floors. And you'll hear who's still hanging around after 200 years.

This isn't a haunted house, and nobody's jumping out at you. It's true stories told by lantern light, close enough to the places they happened that you'll check over your shoulder on the walk back to your car.

Long before the world knew Minnie Pearl, Centerville knew her daddy.

Tom Colley and his brother John were famous around the square for two things: telling a good story and causing one.

One cold December night, a stranger stopped at a saloon to warm up and left his wagon outside. The Colley brothers saw an opportunity. What they did next is still told around town over a hundred years later.

Back in the late 1800's, the place to be in Centerville was a two-story log hotel on the east side. On a good night, you'd hear fiddles going and boots pounding the plank floor. It was a place where a famous frontiersman politician once stood and asked folks for their vote...

In 1874, fire took the hotel and the entire east side of the square with it.

Some nights, people say the party hasn't quite wrapped up...
