☀️🥵 IT'S GOING TO BE HOT! 🥵☀️

The forecast is calling for temperatures around 100° this week! Please take extra precautions to keep your pets and outdoor animals safe.

🐾 Make sure they have plenty of fresh, cool water
🌳 Provide shade throughout the day
🏠 Bring pets inside whenever possible
🚫 Avoid hot pavement and strenuous activity during the hottest parts of the day

Heat can be extremely dangerous for animals. Please check on outdoor pets, livestock, and community animals to make sure they have what they need to stay cool and safe.

It is with a heavy heart that we share that sweet little Tuff passed away today. Sadly, everything he endured over the past week was just too much for his fragile body. He had lost significant muscle mass and was incredibly weak.

Dr. Dixon and her staff worked tirelessly to save him when he began to decline. He fought so hard, but in the end, his little body simply couldn’t take any more. Over the last two days, he was surrounded by love, comfort, and compassionate care. We are so deeply grateful to SCAC for not only doing everything they could, but for making sure Tuff felt safe and loved as he passed peacefully with them by his side.

We also want to sincerely thank everyone for your prayers, kind words, and support during this difficult time.

🐾 TNR Thursday! 🐾

It seemed like Tuxedo Week with so many handsome black-and-white kitties getting their life-changing spay/neuter surgeries! 🖤🤍

We also have a great update on Bobbi! When he was first trapped, he appeared very feral—full of growls and doing everything he could to escape the trap. But after just a few days of good food, toys, and feeling safe, Bobbi has completely changed!

He is now a playful, happy boy who is ready for adoption! ❤️ And just look at that adorable little bobbed tail! 🐱

This is why TNR and giving cats a chance matters. Sometimes all they need is a little patience, love, and a safe place to show their true personalities. 🐾❤️

**UPDATE ON TUFF**
Tuff if still very sick but he is a tough boy and he is fighting his best fight! Dr. Dixon at Smith County Animal Clinic and her staff are taking amazing care of him. Today he was taken off of the glucose to see if he could maintain his blood sugar levels on his own. He is being fed tiny amounts by syringe but is starting to like the food so that means he is getting an appetite. He pr*****ed re**um has been reinserted for a 2nd time and so far is staying in. Tuff got blood, antibiotics and IV fluids which helped him gain a little strength and Dr. Dixon said he can hold his head up now, even though it is only for a short time. He got a nice warm bath to clean off the yucky, foul smelling gunk too. Tuff is going to have a long recovery ahead of him. Once he is ready to leave the clinic he will be going to a wonderful foster who already has his spot set up and waiting for him. So please give Tuff lots of prayers and love and let's help him fight this battle!

We are Desperately in need of Dry Adult Cat Food! With so many cats in our care, we go through food very quickly.

We know it may seem like we're constantly asking for food, and we are truly grateful for every single donation! ❤️ We received several generous donations of kitten food last week, which helped tremendously. Right now, our biggest need is adult cat food.

🐾❤️ Meet Buddy! ❤️🐾

Buddy is an approximately 1-year-old handsome boy with a heart of gold! He spent over two weeks running scared before finally trusting a kind person who kept him safe until he could come to rescue.

Despite his rough start, Buddy is sweet, friendly, and loves attention. He is currently being treated for Lyme and ehrlichia and will be neutered soon.

Buddy is already potty trained, is working on his manners, and is eager to please. With a little continued guidance, he's going to make an amazing, loyal companion! 🐶❤️
