HELP US MAKE A DIFFERENCE! DONATE TO OUR HOME MEDICAL EQUIPMENT DRIVE!

Do you have gently used home medical equipment that you no longer need? Three Rivers Regional Commission, in partnership with Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Newnan, is collecting equipment to help children and adults with disabilities in our community!

✨ Gently used equipment needed includes:
🦽 Wheelchairs
🚶 Walkers and rollators
🦯 Canes
🚿 Shower chairs
🛏️ Hospital beds
🚽 Bedside commodes
⚡ Power chairs and scooters

📅 Date: Saturday, November 7, 2026
⏰ Time: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
📍 Location: Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Newnan

🚗 A convenient drive-through donation drop-off will be available!

💚 YOUR RECOVERY. YOUR PURPOSE. YOUR OPPORTUNITY.

Are you a person in long-term recovery who has a passion for helping others? Have you ever thought about using your lived experience to make a difference in someone else's recovery journey?

CMHA & The Recovery Spot of West Georgia are looking for volunteers interested in learning and growing in the field of peer recovery support!

We want to invest in individuals who are passionate about recovery, connection, and giving back to their community. Our team will provide mentorship, guidance, and opportunities to learn about:

✨ Ethical peer support and professional boundaries
✨ The CARES values and principles of recovery
✨ The role of a peer support specialist
✨ Person-centered, recovery-oriented support
✨ Using lived experience to inspire hope and empower others
✨ Connecting individuals with resources and community support

You do not have to be a Certified Peer Specialist to get started! We are looking for individuals with a heart for service, a commitment to their recovery, and a willingness to learn.

This is an opportunity to grow, build skills, and explore how your recovery journey can become a source of hope and support for others.

The 12th Annual Sound of Medicine is Thursday, November 5, from 6:30–9:00 PM at Venue 1625, 1625 Bankhead Highway in Carrollton.

This year’s lineup includes:
McPherson Street with Dr. Amy Eubanks
Carroll Community Wind Ensemble, directed by Terry Lowry, with Dr. Jonathan Goodin
Dr. Scott Griffin and Ruth Allison Griffin, NP
Day Jobs with Dr. Vince Scoglietti, Dr. Mel Stewart and Dr. Bill Behm
Dakota Dodge with Dr. Howard Seeman

Plus special guests including doctors’ kids and members of the Bremen High School Band.

$30 general admission. $25 students. $350 for a table of eight.

Here is what the night supports: Rapha Clinic of West Georgia and its mission to provide medical and dental care to uninsured members of our West Georgia community. Join WGTC Adult Education on November 3 for the final GED/HiSET prep class registration event of the year! ⌛Registration sessions are held at the Carroll, Coweta, Douglas, Murphy and LaGrange campuses with sessions at 9 a.m. AND 5 p.m.

Classes are free and available on all WGTC campuses Monday through Thursday, with day and evening class times to best fit your schedule.

Stay safe this Halloween! 🎃

Costume tip: Make sure costumes fit well, use makeup instead of masks, and add reflective tape + a flashlight.

Trick-or-treat tip: Little ones with an adult, older kids in groups. Stay on well-lit streets, use sidewalks, cross at crosswalks, and only visit homes with the porch light on.

Treat tip: Check all treats at home before eating.
