🎒 School’s out for summer! School’s out… well, until August! Before you toss the old supplies, check what can be recycled!

📑 Papers, notebooks, and paperback books ➡️ Convenince Centers.
🚫 Binders, large metal clips, spiral 🌀 bound notebooks (unless you remove the metal or plastic pieces)

♻️ Most of school supplies can be recycles at Staples:
🎒 Backpacks and lunchboxes!
🖊️ Pens, markers, sharpies, mechanical pencils.
🖍️ Crayons and color pencils
📐 Rullers
📒 Binders and zipper binders (empty)
🎧 Headphones, calculators, chargers.
💻 Laptops, printers, and other electronics.
📱 Phone, tablet, laptop cases and bags.
💵 Most items can be recycled for free, but there is a charge for monitors.

Residents will have an opportunity to safely dispose of difficult-to-recycle materials during a free two-in-one recycling event hosted by Keep Carroll Beautiful on Saturday, May 16. The event will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Midway Church, located at 1 Midway Church Drive in Villa Rica.

The event will focus on collecting household hazardous waste items and providing secure paper shredding services for local households. Organizers said the event is designed to help residents properly dispose of items that are not easily recycled through traditional local programs.

Join KCB at Midway Church to responsibly dispose of items like acid-based cleaners, batteries, pesticides, paint, and other hazardous household materials. Bring your sensitive paper documents to be shredded! More info:

DROP OF LIMITS and RULES:
♻ Paint: Bring up to 5 gallons of paint per household. A $2.5/gallon fee will apply to quantities over the limit.
♻ Fluorescent bulbs: Up to 20 for free. $1/bulb on extras. Only straight and U-bend fluorescent bulbs will be accepted for recycling.
♻ Batteries: Please sort your batteries into: Alkaline, Lithium, NiCad, and Other. This will save us a lot of time and make the drop-off line move faster.
♻ Shred and recycle your paper files. Open to households and limited to three free bankers' boxes. A fee of $3 for each extra box will apply.

EXCLUDED:
❌ CFL/Curly Bulbs. Please recycle these at your local Home Depot or Lowe's store. More info here:

❌ Cordless tool batteries. Tool batteries are heavy and costly to recycle, but the good part is, they can be recycled year-round at the Home Depot and Lowe's stores. See the "How to recycle" link above.
❌ Grill gas cans are another very costly item to recycle. These cans can be taken to local metal recycling for free. See the "How to recycle" link above.

and 🔩 mixed metal.
