EAA Chapter 443

We flew 26 Young Eagles this past Saturday.
The weather was quite a bit nicer than we anticipated even though the youth turn out was a little lower than normal.
Our pilots and ground volunteers were awesome and we were able to get everyone flown that signed up or showed up to the event, we even had a few show up from a different semi-nearby chapter that had to cancel their event. Check out our web site for the next event and when our registration will open for it. We look forward to seeing everyone at the next Young Eagles Rally!

Founded in 1992, the Young Eagles program is dedicated to giving youth ages 8-17, an opportunity to go flying in a general aviation airplane. These flights are offered free of charge and are made possible through the generosity of EAA member volunteers.

31 Young Eagles flown today.
29 Pre-registered.
2 no shows.
4 walk-ins.

We had to shut down for 15 minutes or so while a low cell passed by but overall our pilots and volunteers did an awesome job getting everyone that attended a flight.
Our 5 pilots and multiple ground volunteers really made the day go smoothly, even with the paper waivers this weekend.
As always, there is a special thanks to the Historical Aircraft Squadron for hosting our rally, Sundowner Aviation for the logistical support with aircraft shuffling and the airport for letting us do our thing.

Great Job passing that next checkride.
Elizabeth was one of our Ray Aviation Scholar's and is now a CFI.

Maybe she will help to train a different Ray Aviation Scholarship recipient at some point!

We received an email today stating that our next EAA Ray Aviation scholar was approved!

We will let that scholar know this weekend.

This calls for some cake!

We are tracking gusty crosswind for the Young Eagles Rally tomorrow morning.
We may be able to get a few flown first thing if our pilots make it to the event. We will check in on the weather first thing in the morning and make a decision to move forward or cancel. **If your flight is closer to noon, it isn't looking good for those flights later in the morning.
