Jane is passionate about building healthier, happier communities through psychology and music. A talented violinist and educator, she has performed with the Sacramento Youth Symphony and Auburn Symphony and shares her love of music by teaching classical violin to young musicians.

The San Juan Education Foundation is proud to continue celebrating the incredible students who make up our 43 outstanding 2026 scholarship award recipients. Through the ACHIEVE Scholarship Portfolio, SJEF has supported students since 2015, helping them pursue their dreams, explore their passions, and take the next step toward college, career, and beyond.

These scholarships are about more than financial support. They are about believing in students’ futures and providing encouragement, confidence, and connection as they pursue their goals.

Today, we are excited to spotlight three exceptional awardees:

🔍 Ruby Braun: 2026 Mesa Verde Senior Scholarship Awardee
Ruby is passionate about pursuing a career as a private investigator and crime analyst. Through her studies, she hopes to develop the skills needed to analyze crime, conduct research, and better understand the factors that influence criminal behavior.

🌾 Paige Carew: Cal Worthington Memorial Scholarship Awardee
Paige discovered her passion for agriculture through her involvement in FFA and plans to pursue a career in the agricultural field. She looks forward to building a hands-on career where she can continue learning, growing, and making an impact.

💙 Nia Blunt: 2026 Mesa Verde Senior Scholarship Awardee
Nia plans to pursue a career in social work, using her passion for advocacy to support and empower young people. Her experience amplifying student voices across the district has inspired her commitment to creating positive change.

🎓 Congratulations to Nia Blunt, 2026 Mesa Verde Senior Scholarship Awardee!

Nia plans to pursue a career in social work, using her passion for advocacy to support and empower young people. Having already served as a voice for students on middle and high school campuses throughout the district, she is committed to continuing that work on a larger scale.

Nia hopes to apply her advocacy and public speaking skills to address important social welfare issues, including inequality, mental health, and substance abuse, while helping create positive change in her community.
