Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us for Spooky Animal Day at the Koobs Nature Area yesterday. We had lots of returning families as well as lots of new families. We love seeing everyone coming out to visit the nature area, especially braving the warm weather. Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 7, from 10am-2pm, for Fall Fun Day! The Koobs Nature Area public open days are hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Carmichael

We have been open for less than 20 minutes and we already have a full house at the Koobs Nature Area for Spooky Animal Day! Kids can make handprint black cats, colorful bats, go on a spider walk, and dissect owl pellets. Come join us before we close at 2pm today

Spooky Animal Day is this Saturday at the Koobs Nature Area, and we are bringing back our pellets, which has been a very popular activities at several of our past public open days. Join us this Saturday between 10 AM and 2 PM.

Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us on Wiggly Worms & Caterpillar Day. We were worried our attendance would be low after our two month break during the hot summer, but we had a fabulous turnout of 300 kids and adults! It’s so fun to see out public open days at Koobs so busy. Along with our Kiwanis Club of Carmichael volunteers, we had volunteers from the American River College Circle K and Del Campo High School Key Club. It was a beautiful day and fun event! Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 3rd, for Spooky Animal Day!

The Koobs Nature Area won’t be open in August due to high temperatures, but we will have our next public open day on Saturday, September 5. It will be Wiggly Worm & Caterpillar Day from 10am-2pm. Come join us for some fun activities hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Carmichael

A big thanks to San Juan Unified & the Koobs Crew (made up of members of the Kiwanis Club of Carmichael, family members, and Boy Scouts, and former CMP-Carmichael students) for all their hard work on Friday. We have 8 yards of new decomposed granite on trails!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Kick Off to Summer Day at the Koobs Nature Area, hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Carmichael. It was kind of a quiet day despite the lovely weather, but we had a great time doing activities with the families who came. We will be taking July and August off due to the heat, but mark your calendar for Wiggly Worm & Caterpillar Day on Saturday, September 5th, from 10am-2pm!

Calling all people with an inflatable dinosaur costume!!! On Sunday, December 6th (I know, it’s a ways off), we want to have a gathering of dinosaurs at the annual Holidays at Koobs…with Dinosaurs event. If you haven’t been before, it’s our free holiday event for families with ornament making, cookie decorating, Christmas carols, and Santa. This year we want to add a dinosaur theme, and we thought a brief gathering of a bunch of dinos would be a tremendous hit. Let us know if you have one so we can save your contact info to reconnect closer to the event
