Thank you to everyone who joined us for Kick Off to Summer Day at the Koobs Nature Area, hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Carmichael. It was kind of a quiet day despite the lovely weather, but we had a great time doing activities with the families who came. We will be taking July and August off due to the heat, but mark your calendar for Wiggly Worm & Caterpillar Day on Saturday, September 5th, from 10am-2pm!

Calling all people with an inflatable dinosaur costume!!! On Sunday, December 6th (I know, it’s a ways off), we want to have a gathering of dinosaurs at the annual Holidays at Koobs…with Dinosaurs event. If you haven’t been before, it’s our free holiday event for families with ornament making, cookie decorating, Christmas carols, and Santa. This year we want to add a dinosaur theme, and we thought a brief gathering of a bunch of dinos would be a tremendous hit. Let us know if you have one so we can save your contact info to reconnect closer to the event

We are excited for our next public open day at the Koobs Nature Area on Saturday, June 6, from 10am-2pm. It will be Kick Off to Summer Day! We’ll have bug collecting, spray bottle art, bubble wands, and summer themed “dad jokes”. Come join us for this fun, free family event hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Carmichael

Please join us Memorial Day on Monday, May 25th.

Colors will be presented 11:00 AM at the La Sierra High School Vietnam Veterans Memorial, located in Koobs Nature Area.
The Nature Area gate will be open 10AM- 2PM.

We will be remembering those veterans who gave the ultimate sacrifice & others who have passed from our sight.

Thanks to Kiwanis Club of Carmichael, the ceremony will be on Zoom for those unable to attend in person.

We had 455 guests at the Koobs Nature Area this past Saturday for Dinosaur Day. We had to buy and prep lots of supplies, and the Kiwanis Club of Carmichael is happy to still keep Koobs free for all the families who join us. But, it’s expensive to run our public open days. Consider donating to the Kiwanis Club of Carmichael this Big Day of Giving to help us keep maintaining the Koobs Nature Area and keeping our events free!

Nature's Lab School, LLC is a local nature-based preschool and an organizational member of the Kiwanis Club of Carmichael. They had a table at the Koobs Nature Area Dinosaur Day with some fun dinosaur toys for kids to play with. We really appreciate them coming out to enjoy the day with us!
