The annual Ty Louis Campbell (TLC) Foundation Golf Outing presented by SterileMed, LLC, a Servco company, is less than two weeks away. It's not too late to register your foursome! Please join us for a fun-filled day of golf, community, and friendly competition as we raise much-needed funds to support research for safer, more effective treatments for pediatric cancer.

Foursome registration includes greens fees, cart, lunch, beverage cart, dinner with two-hour open bar, auction, and a tee gift for each golfer. Dinner-only registration is also an option if you are not planning to golf, but would like to join us for the evening festivities.

"This is my 14th year in the TYathlon. With every training swim, bike, or run, I am reminded that I am not getting any younger. For anyone who knows me well, they know that time is my most valuable asset. In more recent years, I noticed how fast it goes and how much can change in the blink of an eye. I pictured my life to be very different. I grew up swimming in Lake Mahopac. And I imagined myself in my 50s taking my kids back to my old neighborhood to take them swimming there and then to have dinner with Nana and Papa in my childhood home.

The reason that I am asking for donations is because life can change in the blink of an eye. My wife and I were living our best lives at the beach with our two young toddler boys. Then Ty was diagnosed with brain cancer one summer afternoon. And the script we had planned for our lives was completely flipped.

My reality now, at 55 years old, is swimming in Lake Mahopac for our annual Tyathlon to honor my son who died at just five years of age and never had the chance to swim there. After the TYathlon, on the way home, I will pass by where my parents used to live and shed a tear or two just thinking about how much has changed.

We are so grateful for the continued support of Training For Warriors Mahopac! In addition to bringing a fierce team of competitors to our TYathlon sprint triathlon and 5k run/walk, they also sponsor the event, AND host an annual workout fundraiser of their own, with TLC as the beneficiary!

They will be hosting a fundraiser workout "The TY-PHOON!" on 9/6 at 9:30am at 121 Stillwater Ave, Mahopac. $25 to participate with all proceeds going to TLC. Swim, bike, run...or run, jog, walk with us on Saturday, September 19 in support of pediatric cancer research. Now, more than ever, we need your help! All proceeds support the Ty Louis Campbell Young Investigator Fund at New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell.

All registered participants for the Sprint Tri and 5K will be automatically entered for a chance to win a bike and helmet from Bikeway Bicycles in Mahopac! The winner will be selected at random and announced during our awards ceremony around 9am.

The 5K is the perfect opportunity to get your family outdoors for the morning. The sprint triathlon brings together a combination of seasoned pros (our elite field is fierce!) as well as many beginners who are just getting their start in the triathlon world. It is typically a gorgeous morning with perfect fall-like weather at Lake Mahopac. The sprint triathlon begins at 7:00 AM and the 5K kicks off at 9:30 AM.

Over the years, this event has raised more than $600,000 for pediatric cancer research. The TYathlon takes place right here in our amazing community and consists of a sprint triathlon and family-friendly 5K walk/run. All funds raised support the Ty Louis Campbell Young Investigator Fund at New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell. Through this investment, TLC pays the salary of an experienced doctor/researcher who is dedicated to collecting genetic bio-information on all types of pediatric brain tumor samples in order to provide individual treatment protocols with precision medicine to children battling cancer.
