We are thrilled by the overwhelming interest from organizations and communities eager to host future RMTC Annual Meetings!

This enthusiasm speaks to the strength of our growing national network and the incredible commitment of rural medical educators, healthcare organizations, and communities to advancing rural medical education.

To build on this momentum and ensure that all interested organizations have an opportunity to be considered, RMTC is introducing a formal Annual Meeting Host Interest Form!

Hosting an RMTC Annual Meeting is an exciting opportunity to showcase your community, highlight innovative rural medical education initiatives, strengthen national partnerships, and welcome colleagues from across the country.

Join the American Medical Student Association (AMSA) for Turning Data into Action: Advancing Rural Health Through Policy & Innovation, an upcoming virtual panel exploring how data, research, and innovation can translate into meaningful advocacy, policy, and systems-level change for rural communities. Featuring panelists from the NRHA, RWJ Foundation, NCRHP, and RMTC.

Panelists will discuss how we can move from identifying rural health disparities to actually addressing them, including how evidence can inform policy, how rural communities can be meaningfully represented in research and decision-making, and how students and emerging healthcare professionals can get involved.

Rural Program Director’s University (Rural PDU)

RMTC is excited to continue offering Rural PDU, a virtual professional development opportunity designed specifically for rural program leaders. This series includes eight one-hour monthly sessions covering topics like rural GME finance, recruiting, supporting struggling learners, and more—all tailored to the unique challenges of rural training environments.

Sessions will be held monthly starting September 9, 2026.
