Harrisburg RMB a HUGE Success!
Led by Club President Shaun Eng, the Rotary Club of Harrisburg hosted and sponsored one of the most lively and interactive RMB networking events ever with 28 Rotarians and guests from 10 district clubs representing RSVPs/attendees from all areas of District 7390 (Carlisle, D7390 Passport, Elizabethtown, Harrisburg, Hershey, Lancaster, Mechanicsburg North, Palmyra, West Shore, and York). This was the 81st event in District 7390 history since its start in 2014 and the third networking event of the 2026 RMB year. A special thank you to the Healthy You Cafe and its owner Tasha Heck for the wonderfully healthy and delicious array of light hors d'oeuvres and to Elise Burgin for allowing us once again to use the beautiful Capital Connect space for our event.

Outgoing Interim RMB Chair PDG Alden Cunningham gave a few introductory remarks thanking Shaun Eng and the Rotary Club of Harrisburg for supporting RMB for many years and Scott Stevens for keeping RMB going during COVID. He also thanked area/club RMB leaders John Anthony (Mechanicsburg area), Garrett Rohrbaugh (Gettysburg), Bill Hunter and Courtney Piccolo (York), Joel Hillison and Yvette Davis (Carlisle), and Jim Gainer (Hershey) for annually hosting RMB events in their areas.

Alden also thanked DG Mary Brunski for her valuable support in running the Circle exercise in recent years and for agreeing to Chair RMB going forward as of July 1, 2026. Alden then thanked Melissa for doing RMB promotional flyers and setting up the RSVP sites and his wife, Carol, for doing the nametags and being the event photographer. He mentioned Rob Gallagher (Eastern Tier (Lancaster area Champion) pre COVID and John Bailey the southern tier (Gettysburg, Hanover, York) champion pre COVID. Finally, he thanked all RMBers who have attended RMB events over the years.

Every ending is a beginning of something new.

What closes one chapter opens another. Embrace change, trust the journey, and look forward to the opportunities ahead.

✨ New beginnings start where endings leave off.

On Thursday June 4th, we welcomed Joe Cress, local historian and author wrote Rally Round the Flag: WWII on the Homefront in Cumberland County, PA. The book explores how local residents lived, worked, and sacrificed during World War. Surprisingly, many of the local businesses, the War College, and Dickinson College were active participants in building, training, and assisting in varied aspects of the war.
Learn more sbout Carlisle 's amazing history. The book is available at the Whistler Stop bookshop and History on High.
Thank you Joe for a very informative presentation.

Big thanks to Dr Mark Pinker who was a founding member of the Rotary downtown flower baskets idea 30 years ago and Byron Koste who organized the great celebration on May 28th in our town square.

Also, big thanks to Phil George and Stacey Gould the Main Street Managers who worked to make our event a huge success.
Great job all and thank you for making Carlisle a wonderful place to live!
