Little late posting about youth group from last week but we are finishing up learning about spiritual gifts. This week we learned about tongues and interpretation. We watched a news story about university of Pennsylvania’s research into what happens to a persons brain when they speak in tongues. When praying in their native language, a person’s frontal lobe is active. When praying/speaking in tongues, the frontal lobe is passive, indicating the “supernatural” event of the Holy Spirit speaking through them- the person praying no longer has control. It was a cool lesson this week and we are almost ready to take the test to find out what our spiritual gifts are at this stage in our lives!

We celebrated a reunion with our former transitional pastor Nancy Dumford! Nancy helped our church through a tough transition and a pandemic so we were excited to see her and celebrate our reunion with a small reception after church!

Youth group is almost done learning about spiritual gifts. This week was focused on servant and pastor/shepherd. Just two more weeks until we take the spiritual gifts test to help us find our gifts!

We also had a yummy dinner of nacho salad courtesy of youth member Aliya Lewis! We forgot to get a picture of our chef 😞 but we want to thank her for a delicious dinner.

Youth group meets at 6:30 for dinner and 7:00pm for lessons every Wednesday through December 16. Feel free to join us!

Youth group started back this week!!!! We had some great helpers in the kitchen and started back on our study of spiritual gifts. After youth group ended, we made a quick trip to the dollar tree to put together a care package for one of our college students. We are so blessed to have such a great group of students!
