LAST CHANCE to register for the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ 2026 Community Conservation Partnerships Program Annual Grant Workshop this Thursday, Nov. 5 from 9am to noon.

This virtual workshop is designed to help applicants develop project ideas in preparation for submitting a grant application to the 2027 Community Conservation Partnerships Program (C2P2). DCNR’s Bureau of Recreation and Conservation staff will discuss eligible project types, program priorities, and selection criteria.

Potential applicants for the 2027 grant opportunity, including those with previous experience applying to the program, are strongly encouraged to attend, as several changes are coming to the application questions and selection criteria.

This person will help make the Adams County Farmers Market a vibrant destination for local food, learning, and community connection. This position combines hands-on event planning, creative social media production, and other vital marketing efforts to attract new customers, encourage repeat visits, and increase visibility and sales opportunities for participating vendors.

We’re taking a little winter snooze! Like the black bears settling in for a long winter’s rest, the woodchucks tucked away in their burrows, and the bats finding a cozy spot to ride out the cold, the South Mountain Partnership is planning a little seasonal “hibernation” while Julia is on family leave through December.

We’ll be wrapping up our fall programming before slowing things down for the winter. While we may be a bit quieter, we won’t be completely tucked away in our dens! We’ll still be active on social media and sharing updates through our newsletter.

We hope this winter offers you a chance to hibernate a little, too, whether that means recharging with a cozy day indoors, spending time with family and friends, or bundling up for a winter adventure in the South Mountain Region. After all, even the busiest chipmunks know the value of a little rest and preparation for the seasons ahead!

Our friends at the Keystone Trails Association and Cumberland Valley Appalachian Trail Club are having a Benefit Yard Sale on Saturday, Oct. 31 from 9am to 4pm at the Scott Farm Trail Center in Carlisle!

KTA has secured public grants to begin renovating the Scott Farm Trail Center, but additional private funding is needed to help meet matching requirements and support planned improvements. Every purchase helps KTA improve the trail center and support Pennsylvania’s hiking community.

Time is running out to register for the Appalachian Trail Landscape Partnership Annual Meeting from Nov. 16-19 in Harrisburg!

Each year, ATLP’s Partnership Meeting brings together national, regional, and local conservation organizations; local, state, tribal and federal public agencies; and economic, public health, and community development organizations interested in connecting people, place and nature across the A.T. Landscape.

The 2026 Partnership Meeting will feature an inspiring lineup of speakers, partner presentations highlighting replicable success stories and conservation outcomes, insightful panel discussions, networking opportunities, and breakout conservations focused on our shared conservation opportunities and actions.

Join South Middleton Township on Saturday, Oct. 24 at the Historic Iron Works Park (Iron Furnace) in Boiling Springs for a streambank planting event along the Yellow Breeches Creek!
