John Bartram: Pennsylvania, a Peaceable Kingdom

In celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary, Craighead House welcomes reenactor Kirk Brown, who portrays America’s first and foremost horticulturist, John Bartram. A good friend of George Washington, Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson, he introduced over 200 Pennsylvania plants to the world during a time of great discoveries and knowledge. What a great start to the season! It might have been a cool, cloudy day last Saturday, but we had a great turn-out for our Perennial Plant Exchange. And on Sunday, it was a full house for our first Sunday Afternoon Talk on the Ice Age in PA given by geologist Rose-Anna Behr. Thank you all for your support!
