Every bird who comes through our doors has a story.
Some were forgotten. Some were neglected. Some lost the only home they ever knew. But every single one still deserves love, safety, patience, and a chance to be understood.

At The Charlie Brown Bird Rescue, we believe companion birds are not decorations or disposable pets — they are intelligent, emotional beings who form deep bonds and deserve lifelong care.

Every cage cleaned, every diet prepared, every vet visit, every frightened bird gently learning to trust again… it all happens because people choose to care.

Rescue is not always easy. It can be exhausting, emotional, and overwhelming. But then there are moments that remind us why we do this:
🦜 A terrified bird stepping up for the first time.
🦜 A feather-plucker beginning to heal.
🦜 A senior bird finding a loving forever home.
🦜 A once-silent cockatoo dancing and singing again.

That is what hope looks like.

Thank you to every volunteer, foster, adopter, supporter, and donor who helps us continue this mission. You are changing lives — feather by feather.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the amazing moms — especially the bird moms, who lovingly accept being screamed at for no reason and still hand out treats anyway. 💐🦜😂

Thank you for the endless love, patience, clean cages, fresh chop, and cuddles you give your feathered family every day. You make the world brighter for so many little lives. 💚

See the root tails? This is after a 12–hour soak and a 12-hour sprout. 24 hours total with a good 1-minute rinse midway. Sprouted items like peas and mung beans are such fantastic parts of the avian diet and are SO EASY. Running short on time? Sprout! It’s quick, easy and one of the healthiest living foods you can offer. We rinse, drain well, and mix with our Biodiversity Green Forage to absorb excess moisture and layer additional nutrition… not to mention some of the dried greens like oregano have natural antimicrobial and antifungal properties to keep the sprouts fresh.
