Today, our science team went out in the field and retrieved our salt conductivity monitors, which have been recording summer and fall baseline data prior to the start of the winter road-salting season. We will redeploy these monitors at four key sites before the end of the year to begin monitoring road salt.

As colder weather arrives, consider using environmentally friendly de-icing methods to keep our local watersheds healthy.

Last week, NepRWA staff joined state, municipal, and other non-profit staff to learn more about culvert replacements and meeting Massachusetts stream crossing standards.

Making sure culverts are appropriately sized and designed helps fish and wildlife cross safely under roadways, prevents clogging and flooding, and saves money on maintenance and replacement.

We’re seeking residents to participate in a one-hour virtual focus group about snow removal practices and ice melt use. Your feedback will help us develop outreach materials that resonate with residents and support our work to protect local waterways. 🌊
