Who can’t have fun when you’re **ROBOTING**? 🤖⚡

Our NRG 4th–6th graders are competing today, and the fun isn’t just for them! Our FRC high school students and alumni—now serving as junior mentors—are right there with them, encouraging, guiding, and sharing their love of robotics.

It’s a good day, a TON of fun, and a LOT of work—but watching these young minds grow makes it all worthwhile. We’re helping develop the thinkers, problem-solvers, and leaders of tomorrow while making a positive impact on our community.

That’s rewarding work. That’s NRG! 💚

🤖 **Everyone** is invited! Come out to Byron Center High School this Saturday, October 10, 2026, and cheer on our 4th–6th grade students at their robotics tournament! 🏆🎉

The fields are set up, the awards are being made, and the kids are excited!

One of the coolest parts of this program is the leadership of our high school students from NRG, FRC Team 2771. They help drive the program and play a key role in designing the game. Along the way, they’re experiencing what we call “the other 80% of engineering”—understanding the problem, working through the details, and documenting their work—not just building a robot!

Come support these young problem-solvers, see our high school students’ leadership in action, and enjoy a fun day of robotics. Families, friends, neighbors, and anyone curious about robotics are welcome!

What a great day for Code Red at the Grand Rapids girls event! Our girls did an amazing job driving the robot. It ran well with no major breakdowns, and all that drive practice paid off!

The girls across the event were impressive, and we had a lot of fun. Next up is WMRI at Zeeland East in four weeks. Don’t be surprised if some of today’s drivers are back behind the controls—they know the game and work together like a well-synchronized machine!

We’ve got this match and one more before playoffs—and we’re feeling good about making it! We’re still high in the rankings, but more importantly, we’re having a blast. These girls are amazing!

What a great turnout for the Byron Center Homecoming Parade! ❤️🤖 Byron Center is one of the primary school communities our open-to-the-community Code Red Robotics team draws from, and we loved seeing so much support along the parade route.

Today, we’re in Allendale competing at the Grand Rapids Girls event! Come cheer on the young women of Code Red and the other area robotics teams as they show what they can do. It’s a free event, and you’ll be amazed by their creativity, skill, and teamwork.

After years of cutting it close, our bandsaw finally blew a tire. 🛞
We considered calling roadside assistance, but apparently “it’s still in the shop” wasn’t enough information. So we’re officially retiring it from Code Red Robotics.
Thank you for your service, old friend. You really went around and around for this team. 🫡🔧

Summer is here, and along with that Code Red's NRG Summer Camp happening next week for students in 4th-6th grades. And...we still have some openings! Summer camp is taking place Monday-Thursday, June 8-11, 6:30-8:30 pm with a tournament happening on Saturday, June 13. The location is Byron Center High School. Students are required to have an adult attend with them to serve as a drive coach and assistant.
