For the third year, Burnt Hills Ballston Lake Rotary has teamed with Ocean State Job Lot and Mary Brandt from the Capital Region Veteran's Memorial Project to donate 500 coats to veterans in seven surrounding counties. We have given out 1500 coats over 3 years. Thank you to Joy and Mike Zuritis of Solar Foundations for picking up the coats, storing and sorting them.

Our Latest BH-BL Rotary Project
We built four benches at Jenkins Park. Thank you to the club members that helped with this project. Many thanks to Ken Crotty for organizing this project. Thanks also to Bill Bechtel and Tyler Ryder, members of the Town of Ballston Parks and Recreation Committee for their guidance and assistance.

Our Town In Bloom planting sites are looking great this year. We planted them in mid-May. They help make the community a beautiful place to live. Thank you to the Town of Ballston for faithfully watering the sites.

Last night, we had the privilege of serving dinner at the City Mission of Schenectady. It was a very rewarding, enjoyable experience. Everyone was so appreciative of our service.

This week's Burnt Hills Ballston Lake Rotary meeting was held at Alliance 180 in Galway. Bob Nevins, Founding Executive and Program Director, of Alliance 180 told us about this amazing equine assisted, action based peer support program focused on preventing su***de and healing trauma for Veterans, First Responders, and front line healthcare workers. The Equine Experience is centered on building trust through the universal language of horses.

FOREST PARK WALKING TOUR
The Burnt Hills Ballston Lake Rotary Club is sponsoring a free walking tour of Forest Park on Ballston Lake on Tuesday June 2nd at 5:00PM led by Rick Reynolds, Town of Ballston Historian. In the early 1900's amusement parks played a major role in people's lives. Ballston Lake was home to Forest Park. This tour will include experiencing the layout of the park as well as seeing some of the structures that exist today. This walking tour (approximately 1 mile, 1 1/2 hours) is on mostly level ground and takes place in the wooded areas some of the time. It is advisable to wear comfortable clothing, good walking shoes or sneakers, and protect against ticks. No bathroom facilities are available. For the tour, meet at 62 Westside Drive, Ballston Lake. Parking is along Westside Drive and signs will be posted for your convenience. Please contact Susan Stec at [email protected] by May 26th for reservations.

On Saturday, we had a very productive workday at Anchor Diamond Park in the Town of Ballston. It was a beautiful day. We cleared away many invasive plants. It was a very rewarding experience. Thank you to all who helped.
