We shared a meaningful visit last Friday from some key members of the NYS Justice Center, who took the time to tour our campus, learn more about our programs and our mission, and hear directly from us on how we successfully support our students with their oversight.
About the Justice Center:
The Justice Center is a state agency charged with creating a safer, more inclusive New York. The agency investigates allegations of abuse and neglect in the state’s human services programs – such as those offered through the Office of Children and Family Services, the Office of Mental Health, and the NYS Education Department. As the only state in the country with such broad and dedicated oversight, the Justice Center establishes a national standard for safeguarding people receiving state care. The agency’s commitment to seeking justice is also inseparable from its education and training efforts. Through rigorous monitoring activities and developing comprehensive staff resources, the Justice Center is consistently finding new ways to prevent, protect, and advocate for all New Yorkers.
Having the opportunity to strengthen this connection by enhancing their knowledge of our work, as well as us learning more about theirs, is a testament to the continued success of our programming and their commitment to supporting the agencies they serve.
We are thankful for their visit and for their continued guidance and support.
