On January 25, 2015 Jack Holden Doyle was born into the world. There was no crying- just a beautiful, peaceful little boy. He was born alive and fought as hard as he could. Un
fortunately, there was nothing that could be done to save him and he died in his daddy's arms and by his mommy's side, just a short time after and left an enormous void in our lives. The care, love, support, and keepsakes we received from the bereavement team in the hospital where he was born helped us to create beautiful memories that we treasure more than words can express. It helped us make it through those first hours, days, and weeks. It was an invaluable gift that we were given that we look through often when we need to feel that connection to Jack again and it is for that very reason that Jack's Herd was created. It is said that when a mother elephant loses her baby the other elephants stand around her with their backs to her, protecting her from anything that could harm her or her little one. They do not rush her along; they allow her to grieve as long as she needs to. They touch the mother gently with their trunks to show their unwavering support for her. This is what we aim to do. We wish to welcome any grieving parents into Jack's Herd that need support; to let them know they are not alone in this terribly devastating time. We will stand around them for as long as they need.
