2026 Juneteenth Freedom Day Community Celebration held Saturday, June 13, 2026, Mebane Community Park

Pi Omicron Omega Chapter, collaborative event of Build Our Economic Wealth and Connection and Social Action Committees. Promoted June Black Dollar Days, focusing on supporting Black Businesses- wearing pink, spending green, buying black. Voter registration offered. We educated attendees on the importance of voting. Registered and shared ways to check registration status online, and encouraged them to get family and friends involved.

Today, the Pi Omicron Omega Chapter and the Omicron Epsilon Chapter at Elon of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® proudly came together in the spirit of service to support the Day of the Child event, hosted by the Alamance Partnership for Children. 💚

This vibrant and impactful event welcomed several hundred attendees, offering families a day filled with fun activities, engaging experiences, and meaningful community resource connections.

Our chapter played an active role in the success of the day, with almost twenty members volunteering their time and energy. Together, we assisted with event setup, distributed lunches to families, and supported breakdown and clean-up efforts. In total, we dedicated over 45 volunteer hours to help to ensure the event ran smoothly and successfully.

This opportunity to serve reflects our continued commitment to uplifting the Alamance County community and supporting initiatives that strengthen and empower families.

We are proud to stand in partnership with the Alamance Partnership for Children and look forward to continuing our service and impact in the community.

Today, the Pi Omicron Omega Chapter and the Omicron Epsilon Chapter at Elon of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, in partnership with our Enhance Our Environment Committee, proudly came together in the spirit of service for a Tree Planting and Park Clean-Up at Robinson Park. 🌱

Through our collective efforts, we planted trees, revitalized green spaces, and contributed to a cleaner, healthier environment for our community. This initiative reflects our unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability and meaningful service.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to the City of Burlington for their continued partnership and support in this impactful work.

Together, we are creating lasting change—building a greener community today while shaping a stronger, more sustainable future for generations to come. 🌍✨
