Taylor Collier: Building Belonging, One Book and One Playground at a Time

A Mebane mother, small-business owner, and community advocate, Taylor has a gift for noticing who might be left out, and then doing something about it.

Seeing the World Through New Eyes

Taylor’s advocacy began at home. She is raising a strong, independent, and feisty little girl who has Spina Bifida and doesn’t let anything bring her down. Being her mom opened Taylor’s eyes to barriers many people never consider.

“Once you see your child unable to participate in an activity with their friends, peers, or family because of a lack of accessibility, it changes you,” Taylor shares. “Your focus becomes removing the barriers that keep them from having a full experience.”

Dr. Beth Brehler: Creating Opportunity Through Courage and Connection

For Dr. Beth Brehler, education has always been about more than earning a credential. It is about creating opportunity, building community, and helping people see possibilities for themselves that they may not have imagined.
Born and raised in rural eastern North Carolina, Beth developed an early appreciation for the transformative role education can play in strengthening individuals, families, and communities. That belief has guided a career devoted largely to community colleges, where she has served students through enrollment, advising, and student support services.

What began with remodels and additions has expanded into custom home building, property management, and real estate investment. Today, the company builds 15 to 20 homes annually while managing a portfolio of nearly 30 residential and commercial properties throughout Alamance County and surrounding communities.

We are saddened to share the passing of Dr. Seena Granowsky, a founding board member of the Women’s Resource Center of Alamance County.

Dr. Granowsky helped build WRCAC from the ground up and served on our board for approximately ten years. Her vision, leadership, and commitment to the women of our community helped shape the Center into what it is today, and her impact will be felt for years to come.

Our hearts are with her family and loved ones. Thank you, Dr. Granowsky, for everything you gave to this community.
