Mayor Emily Sharpe proclaims June 2026 as Pride Month in the Town of Elon. 🌈

June 2026 marks the 57th annual Pride Month celebration throughout the United States. The month of June was chosen to commemorate the dedication and bravery of those who led the 1969 uprising at the Stonewall Tavern in Greenwich Village, which sparked the modern LGTBQIA+ liberation movement.

The Town of Elon will continue to advocate for protections for LGBTQIA+ individuals to make our Town a place where all people, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression, are treated with dignity and respect.
