🗓️It's time to start planning for fall classes at the Bed-Stuy Y-- Priority Member registration opens this Saturday, August 8 for our Fall 1 Session!

🏊‍♀️Did you know that the Bed-Stuy Y offers swim classes for adults as well as youth ages 6 months and up? It's always a good time to learn to swim. Cool off in our pool and learn how to be water safe!

☀️The Bed Stuy Y camp team was delighted to welcome representatives from the Lisa Beth Gerstman Foundation and their guests to tour the facility on Thursday.

The group was able to witness firsthand a range of camp activities and meet with our inclusion team who​ shared all the ways the Y creates a welcoming and safe space for all children. They were even able to participate in the ice cream making activity!🍦

Through their generous support, the Lisa Beth Gerstman foundation has been an essential partner in the Y’s mission to provide children with special needs an opportunity to attend summer day camps in integrated environment. We are so grateful for this relationship and the valuable support!🙏🙏

💦Last week the Bed-Stuy Y hosted the water safety Swim 1922 Waterpalooza event with our friends in the Sigma Gamma Rho sorority. 🙏Thank so much to everyone who came out to learn these important skills and to the organizers for putting together such a valuable, life-savings event for our community!!🏊

⚽️Excited about soccer right now? Did you know we offer soccer classes at the Bed-Stuy Y? Open to ages 5-10, this energetic program emphasizes teamwork and positivity through exercises designed to familiarize young players to the game of soccer with age appropriate teaching tools and drills.

There are still spaces in our summer classes that run from June 29-August 23!

🧑‍🎓Last week, YMCA of Greater NY teens from across the city attended the annual College Decision Day ceremony at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. The ceremony was filled with laughter, tears, and appreciation for all the seniors taking their next step into adulthood.

The Bed-Stuy Y was honored to participate in the celebrating, recognizing the achievements of our incredible teens:

👏Kelham Matthews who will be attending Hampton University
👏Brandyn McAllister who will be attending SUNY Delhi
